As the games become finalized this weekend we will be updating the playoff tiebreakers. All tiebreaker rules can be found here: https://pit.redzoneleagues.com/menu/league-rules-policies
Division 1:
Akatsuki (1) vs Cancelled SZN (4)
Rebellion (2) vs Peak Mode (3)
Coed Division 1:
Connor McDavids vs Bleue's Clueless (4)
DumbLit (2) vs Things and Stuff (3)
Things and Stuff take second place by defeating Bleue's Clueless head-to-head during the regular season.
Coed Division 2:
Running Pylons Senior bye
Kinda Athletic (2) vs We are Not the Dillos (3)
5 v 5 Division 1:
Big Baller Brand vs winner Moneyball/MonStars
Suburban Hit Squad (2) vs Loose Cannons (3)
Moneyball (4) vs MonStars (5)
Suburban Hit Squad finish second by defeating Loose Cannons head-to-head during the regular season.
5 v 5 Division 2:
Free Agents (1) vs Mean Machine (4)
Bad Company (2) vs Goatsizzle (3)
There was a three-way tie for second place, however Mean Machine had a default which automatically relegated them to the bottom spot. Bad Company takes second place by way of a better head-to-head plus/minus. Both teams were 1-1 against each other during the season, but the larger margin of victory for Bad Company locks them into second. Playoffs will be the real tiebreaker!
Good luck to all teams in their quest for championship glory!

Division 2:
Guild of Calamitous Intent (1) vs Blount Force (4)*
The Jeffery (2) vs Kings (3)*
Losing teams will be relegated to Division 3. The highest remaining seed in Division 2 will receive the Top seed in Division 3. The lowest remaining seed in Division 2 will receive the bottom seed in Division 3.
Division 3:
Highest remaining seed from Division 2 (1) vs winner Rebels/Lowest Remaining Seed from Division 2
Law Firm (2) vs Hanging with Hernandez (3)
Rebels (3) vs Lowest Remaining Seed from Division 2
Division 4:
Enforcers (1) vs Nasty Boyz (4)
North Bay Summer Squad (2) vs Fail Mary (3)
North Bay receives the second seed by virtue of their head-to-head victory over Fail Mary during the regular season.
Division 5:
Blue Balls (1) vs winner Running Riot/Gamecocks
Gym Class Heroes (2) vs Past Our Primetime (3)
Running Riot (4) vs Gamecocks (5)
The head-to-head game between Past Our Primetime and Running Riot ended in a tie! A bunch of tiebreakers are thus nullified, so to break that tie we had to move all the way down to overall plus/minus wherein Past Our Primetime receives the third seed.
Division 6:
Down to Football vs winner Glue Factory/Gotham Knights
Wickermen (2) vs North Bay Panthers (3)
Glue Factory (4) vs Gotham Knights (5)
Wickermen capture the second seed by defeating North Bay Panthers twice during the regular season (by a combined 2 points!). Glue Factory knocked of Gotham Knights during the regular season to take the fourth seed.
Division 7:
Necessary Roughness (1) vs Blouses (4)
Trigger Happy Bunnies (2) vs Bullet Club (3)
There was a four-way tie at 5-5 between Trigger Happy Bunnies, Blouses Football, Post Dig Picks Route, and Bullet Club. Three of the teams would stick in Division 7, one would be relegated to Division 8! When head-to-head was examined Trigger Happy won all three games against their tied foes, and thus would take the 2nd seed. We then eliminate the Bunnies from the equation and thus look at the remaining three teams, wherein Bullet Club takes the third seed as they beat both Blouses and Post Dig Picks head-to-head. Finally, with Bullet Club through, we just examine head-to-head between the remaining teams and Blouses relegates Post Dig Picks by defeating them during the regular season. Crazy!
Division 8:
Post Dig Picks Route (1) vs FERDA (4)
Andriys Dream Team (2) vs Razorbacks 2.0 (3)
Andriys Dream Team finishes second by defeating Razorbacks head-to-head during the regular season.
Division 9:
Boozers (1) vs Blast from the Past (4)
Kraken (2) vs Cobras (3)
There was a three-way tie between Blast from the Past, Cobras, and Suckskatchewan, two would stick in Division 9, one relegated to 10. Each of the three teams were 1-1 head-to-head, so head-to-head plus/minus was used to decide the tiebreaker. Cobras take the third seed with the best head-to-head +/- (+19) (Suck -6, Blast -13). With Cobras through we revert to the start of the tiebreaker system and Blast from the Past defeated Suckskatchewan, securing fourth place for Blast and sending Suckskatchewan to Division 10.
Division 10:
Suckskatchewan (1) vs Free Agents (4)
North End Hawkeyes (2) vs Bleue's Clueless (3)
Coed Division 1:
Connor McDavids (1) vs Bleue's Clueless (4)
DumbLit (2) vs Things and Stuff (3)
Things and Stuff take the third spot by defeating Bleue's Clueless head-to-head during the regular season.
Coed Division 2:
Running Pylons Senior bye
Kinda Athletic (2) vs We are Not the Dillos (3)
5 v 5 Division 1:
Big Baller Brand (1) vs winner Moneyball/MonStars

Can you please clarify Div 2/3?
Let's speculate that the higher seed wins each of the Div 2 game to keep things simple. Then the Div 2 final would simply be Guild vs Jeffery, clean and simple, right? Would the Div 3 bracket then be as follows?
Rebels vs Blount Force "play-in game". Winner advances to play Kings in the Div 3 semi, and the loser goes home.
Law Firm vs Hernandez is the other Div 3 semi.
Then if the higher seeds prevail, the Div 3 final would be Kings vs Law Firm?
So effectively, this cross-over / relegation set-up simply guarantees an extra playoff game for each of the Div 2 first-round losers? Just trying to clarify things here. Thanks in advance!

Greg is correct. If the bottom two teams in Division 1 were to lose their games (for argument's sake), they would then be relegated to Division 2, which is where they would have played anyway based on their overall record. If they win, they would continue to the Division 2 final, and their opponents would be relegated in the same way.
We are renaming the Division 3 title the Duber-Doo bowl, as Jon's cat is the only thing that brings him joy 😿.

Makes sense to me. As a member of the Kings, I look forward to a chance at redemption versus the Jeffery against whom we blew a halftime lead to lose a nail biter (had we won that game, both teams would've finished 7-3). And if that revenge game doesn't work out, bring on Div 3!
I know it's a thankless job to align divisions and you can't make everyone happy. Hopefully one of these other Div 2/3 teams can finally take down the Guild. ;)

Think of it this way, all teams in Division 2 are guaranteed two playoff games and they are the only teams in the league who are guaranteed two games.
If Blount Force for example, were to lose their opening game, they would be relegated to Division 3 where they would have played regardless. I would much rather be in that position than being one and done and not having the opportunity to make your team better by playing against better competition.
As pointed out earlier, not everyone can be made happy, but the Duber-doo bowl will bring joy back to Whoville 😿

Keep in mind this is a very unusual season. With divisional re-alignment a few teams would not be in the division they are currently. Teams would have been moved up or down. Since we have a shortened season this was made clear at the outset that we feasibly could not realign after 4-6 games as you wouldn't have an opportunity to play all the teams in your division and thus some results would be anomalous due to strength of schedule. Not that most will care, but the two teams last year who were at the top of Division 2 before realignment ended up not coming back this summer. The jump from two to one is the largest jump in touch football...and its not even close. One team quit specifically because they were put in Division 1 and felt there was no way they could compete. As a result we are cautious about how best to introduce teams into that division. If we had a season of realignment, there is a good chance a lot of this conversation just doesn't happen, but we are in unusual times. The 46-year old quarterback that a few are railing against was also cut from his Division 1 team for not being good enough anymore, so that should put some perspective into how good Division 1 really is. The teams that preferred to play the lower ranked Division 1 teams compared to the higher ranked Division 2 teams would have been given a very rude awakening if we chose that route to go for playoff alignment.
Instead, we have chosen to split divisions to provide 15 different opportunities to win championships to make up for the shortened season that didn't allow for proper realignment. The league loves the fact that our players are passionate about the game, but we can't lose site of the fact that it is a game.
We have had numerous teams thank us for a season that has gone off mostly without a hitch, provided a place to play, and love the divisional split idea. We should also keep in mind that we are lucky to be even playing the sport we love to play, so lets not lose sight of the fact we are doing well in the grand scheme of things. The PIT curse is also rampant, so we expect some upsets as always to happen come playoffs.
We wish all of our teams the best in their playoff run.

Since this is a thread on tiebreakers, there is an update/change:
Division 7:
Necessary Roughness (1) vs Bullet Club (4)
Trigger Happy Bunnies (2) vs Blouses (3)
There was a four-way tie at 5-5 between Trigger Happy Bunnies, Blouses Football, Post Dig Picks Route, and Bullet Club. Three of the teams would stick in Division 7, one would be relegated to Division 8! When head-to-head was examined Trigger Happy won all three games against their tied foes, and thus would take the 2nd seed. We then eliminate the Bunnies from the equation and thus look at the remaining three teams. Here there was an unequal number of head-to-head games so we used plus/minus to punch the Blouses through. Finally, with Blouses through, we just examine head-to-head between the remaining teams and Bullet Club relegates Post Dig Picks by defeating them during the regular season.
So Blouses to three, Bullet Club to four.
I do like cats and I am excited to see who wins the Division 3 Duber-doo Bowl.

Kudos to The Jeffery on a hard-fought Div 2 semi-final, and best of luck against The Guild next week. While we would have loved the opportunity to test ourselves against the strongest team in our blended Div 2/3 set-up, The Kings now look forward to taking on whichever opponents the football gods put in front of us in the Div 3 "Karma Bowl" bracket.
Best of luck to all teams this weekend... looks like a couple of beautiful days for playoff football!
