Unfortunately there has been some very disappointing incidents with regards to player conduct during the Summer playoffs. As a league we must protect our referees and will vehemently defend them against referee abuse. Without our referees we cannot play the game we love to play and our league would cease to exist. As a consequence we are cracking down on problematic player conduct in the league.
Effective immediately the following rules have been enacted:
Objectionable conducts will be tracked for the duration of the season (outdoor is one season, indoor [Fall/Winter/Spring] will be considered one season).
* Six objectionable conduct penalties accumulated throughout a season will result in a one game suspension.
* Every objectionable conduct penalty after six will also result in a one game suspension.
* Penalties are cumulative meaning a person’s third objectionable conduct will result in a suspension however if the third objectionable conduct penalty in a single game is also a player's sixth (or seventh, etc) objectionable conduct penalty overall in the season then a two game suspension would be applied.
* Players who receive an objectionable conduct penalty after the conclusion of a game will automatically be suspended (the game is over you cannot change anything, leave the refs alone and go enjoy a beer and talk about how awesome it is to be able to play recreational touch football).
* Depending on the severity of the offense suspensions may be compounded or escalated.
A couple of players have already been suspended for extensive periods of time due to their actions in the summer playoffs and as league owners we applaud our referees for taking a stand against players who have been repeat offenders of referee abuse. Players should be forewarned that we will always side with our referees in such instances and the suspensions are well deserved. The new rules will help crack down on repeat offenders and those who are consistently taking objectionable conduct penalties during games.
The rules page has been updated to reflect the new objectionable conduct penalties and can be viewed here: http://www.pitfootball.com/menu/indoor-rules
We as a league understand that these rules will not affect 99% of the players in our league but will affect the 1% who are the ones who make the games less enjoyable for both our referees and our membership.

The second of our new rules to take affect this Fall is as follows:
GAME CARDS:
Game cards/website statistics will not be modified after 24 hours of the game cards being posted on the website and the website will be considered accurate when deciding playoff eligibility.
In is already league policy that team captains are to check game cards for accuracy following games. While it is possible that statistics may be entered incorrectly the PIT Crew prides themselves on offering the most accurate and up to date statistics in recreational sports. To prevent players from taking advantage of of our policies we will no longer go back and change statistics if errors are reported more than 24 hours after a game is played. Last outdoor season we had literally dozens of players (who coincidentally had five games to be eligible for playoffs) claim that the game cards from weeks/months earlier were inaccurate and attempted to make themselves eligible for playoffs. Teams and players are expected to check the website to ensure accuracy. We know that the vast majority of players check their stats on a consistent basis as it is so there is no reason that it would take months to let us know of an error.
This rule was enacted to prevent teams from manipulating game cards in their favor to ensure playoff eligibility for players who are not active on their rosters. Much like the original rule on this post we know that this only affects 1% of the players in the league, however the PIT Crew is consistently trying to better the league and we hope that we come playoffs rosters are accurate and the playing field is even.
With the addition of some divisions having players play on multiple teams, players will no longer be credited for both games. Whatever team the player participates with will be the one credited for playoff eligibility.
