Messages for 2013 Team Captain's All Star Game

For the fourth year running the PIT Crew would like to award all of those unsung heroes who chase around their teammates for registration money, ensure players get to the field, work around the schedules of others, deal with the day-to-day drama, and generally go gray with the joys of organizing recreational touch football. Without the captains of the 106 teams in the league the PIT would not exist. Team captains might not lead their respective divisions in points, TD passes, interceptions, or sacks, but they are the true all-stars, and should be acknowledged as such.
What better way to do so then to invite all of our outdoor team captains to our 4th annual captains all-star game. We are continuing the tradition by holding the all-star game under the lights on the artificial turf at East Side Eagles field. This year the game will be played on Saturday August 24th! Due to the huge growth in the league there will be two all-star games held. The first at 6:15pm the second at 8:30pm on the blue turf of East Side! We will also be having events such as fastest man, longest throw, QB challenge and field goal kicking contests between the games.
All team captains in attendance will receive all-star t-shirts courtesy of Harv-al and be eligible to win some great swag from our sponsors. Team captains must register for the all-star game by Wednesday August 21st to be eligible for the game. To register, team captains should email Jon or Scott (emails found on the contacts page). All team captains who are registered will have their names placed on the homepage with the 4 all-star teams created from that list.
Congratulations to each team captain who will represent their team in the 2013 all-star game! Only in the PIT!

Today is the last chance to RSVP for the team captain's all star game this Saturday evening under the lights at East Side Eagles Field. Don't miss out on the good times and free swag as we show our appreciation to all the team captains who put in the long hours organizing their respective touch football teams.
A list of all team captains who have RSVP'd is on the homepage. If you don't see your team captain up on the site send them a reminder!
This year any PIT players who wish to participate in our skills competitions (fastest man, longest throw, field goal kicking, and QB challenge) are invited out to test their skills and win some swag. A listing of event times will be up shortly. Thurston here is your chance to show the world your FG kicking skillz.
For the players, by the players

Took a couple of days to recover from the all-star game but we got the photo evidence here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/609-
A little rain to start the night scared off some team captains but as it has been every year thus far for the All-Star game it turned into a perfect evening. Game 1 saw Team Blue defeat Team Purple by a score of 29-25. Team Blue was led by the 15 points of Adam Safinuik (Barracudas) while Chad Okamura (Da Beers) led the way for Team Purple with 12 points.
Another competitive game for game #2 when the lights when on. Team Blue also took the victory in this one by a score of 31-24. Shane Smedvik (Rampage) broke the all-star scoring record with three touchdowns. Dave "Papa Nitro" Robson (Jeffery) replied with 12 points for the purple people eaters.
Great time, lots of beers, and many an Arrested Development chicken impression. More pics and info on the winners of the contests upcoming. Thanks to our sponsors at Boston Pizza, the person who discovered alcohol, hot girls everywhere, Just for Looks, Harv-Al Sportswear, and Nott Autocorp for providing all the swag we gave out to our captains.

If you wanted to know more about the lunacy/gong show that was the all-star game check out these picks here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/610-the-aftermath
Congrats to our game MVPs: Henry Kornelson (Knights), Chris Lothian (Go Deep), Jeff Eyamie (Agent Orange) and Max Jeanson (Demonhood) who put on some great performances. Chris had perhaps the greatest catch in all-star game history with a one-handed stab on the goal line.
Also congrats to each of our competition award winners:
PIT Fastest Man: Darwin Thompson (Thundercats). I believe it was 3.4 second 40...like real fast.
PIT Field Goal Accuracy: Neil McKernan (Polk High). Measly 30 yarder was able to win this one...
PIT QB Challenge: Gavin Panchuk (Titans). Usurps Nolan Colby (Brewers) as the reigning champion. Nolan was too busy having dinner with his lady friend preventing him from defending his title and getting drunk.
Dear Nolan:
The booze hit the PIT Crew hard by the second game and that carried through to the parking lot, then Moxies. Throughout the night the booing of Nolan continued...
Approximately 360 days until the next one!
