The PIT has landed two great new fields to add to its repertoire. After extensive discussions with the city they have allowed us to create not one, but two fields at Assiniboine Park! Yes, huge open areas designated for touch football, all in a pristine area which is often partaken in by attractive young ladies.

The first field is a soccer pitch located off Assiniboine Park Drive. The PIT not only received special permission to remove the soccer nets, but also to field line the area. Thus we will have another regulation sized football field without goal posts, thereby freeing up our players and/or refs from having to pick up and drop off pads.

The second field is located off Zoo drive utilizing the Conservatory Drive entrance. The newest field will run perpendicular to the existing soccer fields. This regulation size field will also be free of goal posts with a full compliment of lines. We have worked hard to create a location dedicated to touch football in the Park and it looks like our hard work has paid off. Check out our new locations here: http://pitfootball.com/locations

To take advantage of these field opportunities, we will be making field changes over the weekend to include both fields at Assinboine Park, as well as Viscount Alexander School. Keep posted to your schedule!

The PIT's first night at Assiniboine Park went last night. The field was cut, aerated, the soccer nets were taken down, and three front end loads of soil were dropped on the field. It was a long day of work which will need to be completed on Wednesday. Thanks to Riley, Kanwal, Donny "Double D" Desaulniers, and "Mr. Irrelevant" Neil "Player of the Month" McKernan who all lent a hand.

Here are the before and after pics of the field including some action shots of No D versus the Rebels who played the inaugural game at Assiniboine Park. http://pitfootball.com/albums/303-assiniboine-park-july-27th-2010 Somewhere in there is a lesson about how not to remove soccer nets.

The field at Assinboine Park was given the full compliment of lines on Wednesday, including players boxes, field numbers and directional arrows. We even "scored" a picnic table for the refs! In three weeks time we will hope to rotate to the second field in Assinboine Park to keep all the fields in the best condition possible.

Assiniboine Park #1 got a new coat of paint on Monday.

Assiniboine Park was mowed previous to the games being played and all the PIT accoutrements were added: 5 yards increments, triple lined goal lines, player boxes, yardage markers, directional arrows, etc. The PIT may bring their lining to the professional level. To see for yourself check it out: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/312-assiniboine-park-august-17th-2010 Thanks to Ryan Harbour who got his "field lining rookie card" with the PIT. Both Harbs and Rooby the Kangaroo give their approval!

If the field has dried out enough, Assiniboine Park #2 is on the schedule to be lined on Tuesday.

Assiniboine Park #2 finally got off the ground yesterday! The Cobras and the Hawkeyes were the first teams to have a game on our newest field. Check out some pics here: http://pitfootball.com/albums/314-assiniboine-park-august-18th-2010

Thanks to our mystery field liner who wished to remain anonymous due to ties with other leagues! ???? The PIT gospel continues to grow.

The only things about that field was the swampy parts near the northeast 20, and that it's only 100 yards... Otherwise, it was very very nice.

Why is it only 100 yards? Did I drive so far south that I went below the 49th parallel? :)

Assiniboine Park (Train) was lined for the first PIT usage of the season yesterday. The field was given the full compliment of lines, hashes, player boxes, directional arrows, numbers, etc. Hopefully this pleases Tyler!

Since we have some great summer weather happening, bring your ladies out for a night of football and then off the zoo or dinner in the Park. The PIT is all about romancing the ladies!

Assiniboine Park (Deer) was lined for the first usage of the season yesterday. The fields quaint confines will be on display as will the usual run of deers through that area of the park. The usual hashes, player boxes, field numbering, etc were added. Guys bring your ladies out for a nice day in the park!

That time of year again when the days get very hot, the women start shedding clothes and the second half of the football season begins. Assiniboine Park does well to combine them all.

For the next three weeks we will be at the Assiniboine Park (Train) location and then for three weeks after that we move to the other side of the park to watch the deer. Soccer laid a bit of a beating on the Train location as soccer has never heard of a rain out before. Apparently they also don't know how to line fields as it appeared the lines were put down by drunken children.

We managed to fix it up and here are the pictures: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/589-assiniboine-park-train-july-3rd-2013

Assiniboine Park (Deer) was lined yesterday in advance of our games starting this Monday. For those of you new to the field you will be first confronted with the tight dimensions of the field due to the outgrowth of trees around the field, but you will also find that it is a pretty awesome location to bring out your ladies (or watch the ladies that walk by!). When it starts to get a little dark you will understand why we can this the "Deer" field.

Assiniboine Park Deer began its first rotation of the season this week. In honour of the World Cup of soccer also starting this week we give you the line job and some soccer memes: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/677-assiniboine-park-deer-june-2014?page=1

As always gentlemen, bring your ladies out to the park to see the ever abundant deers that like to traverse this field once the sun starts to go down.

Assiniboine Park Train got its first lining of the season as seen here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/683-assiniboine-park-train-july-2014

This once good field which was created in combination with Assiniboine Park to generate revenue for the park and give us a place to play has unfortunately seen better days. A combination of soccer using it daily and the rain on July 1st has degraded the field significantly. The Park unfortunately ran all its machines through the field during the fireworks and left some big ruts which were filled in by dirt. Not our best field but we tried to clean it up as best we could. Damn soccer and government!

Assiniboine Park Deer began its second and final slate of games this season on Monday. We have the field up to and including the first week of August. Some soil was laid down by the park administration and the field was relined with the help of magic, witches and genies. It is summer, which means it is time for the PIT to start playing back at Assiniboine Park. One of our most requested fields goes back into rotation Monday, a great field to play, Fenway Park-esque dimensions, deer sightings and a great place to bring your significant other/family to watch a game. Here are some pics of our latest handiwork as well as some of the new attractions to the Park this summer: http://pitfootball.com/albums/735-assiniboine-park

The PIT Crew just inked another season at Assiniboine Park. We will be there for six weeks over the summer spread out between June and August. One of the leagues favorite locations for football, family fun, and "sightseeing".

More field information will ideally be available tonight as we sit down with Maple Grove this afternoon to iron out the final details of playing at the Rugby Park.

The most requested field in touch football kicked off its usage on Monday as Assiniboine Park was cut and lined Sunday after the morning monsoon! The only league that cuts and maintains the fields themselves was able to create quite the masterpiece as demonstrated here: http://pitfootball.com/albums/816-assiniboine-park

We are positive that all teams will not only enjoy the location, the sights (both deer and not deer), but most importantly the field conditions. Five yard increments, hash marks, numbers, directional arrows, and player boxes were all in play courtesy of our Master field liners Brent and Dion. Make sure you thank these guys for all their hard work that helps make the PIT the best recreational sports league around.

Assiniboine Park was lined for the first time this season in preparation for the remainder of July and August. The field was rested for the first two months of the season and is in perfect shape for the stretch run of games. The fan/player favorite should exceed expectations! A full complement of lines, numbers, directional arrows, player boxes, hashes were painted as well by the professional field lining services of APEX field lining!

Enjoy.
