Thanks to all players who participated in the Division 1 draft league tonight. Was a great time over a lot of beers/crown royals. We have 4 teams running the division 1 shoe (yes I spelled that correctly): the Akron Professionals, Canton Bulldogs, Cleveland Tigers, and Dayton Triangles. The following is a quick synopsis of the draft, all players can now be viewed on their respective teams here http://www.pitfootball.com/divisions. More information to follow!

With the #1 pick the Canton Bulldogs selected Harlo Larkin as the first ever player taken in PIT draft history. When asked to comment about this illustrious honor Harlo replied "Where the f#ck is Canton?".

The Cleveland Tigers followed up by picking Mike "Switzerland" Brownridge. Browridge had no comment on heading to Cleveland. Joakim Noah however chimed in on the home of the Tigers:

The Dayton Triangles selected Andrew Barnbrook with the #3 pick. Mr. Barnbrook followed in his mentors footsteps, then proceeded to challenge Harlo and Brownridge to a fight to see who really is the best player in touch football.

At #4 the Akron Professionals decided to trade away both their first round and second round picks for future considerations, a crown royal, and an option for a lap dance in Las Vegas by an nice Tennessee girl (now that I think about it the trade really sucks unless I go to Vegas). Tip: never draft/make trades when wasted. Without a pick in the first two rounds the first ever Akron Pro selected was Ryan "5000 points" Harbour. Ryan is currently holding out from signing a contract since Akron has no defense, no players over 5 foot 2, they drafted a center with a spinal cord injury, and only the Akron QB has access to the champagne room. Future considerations turned out to be WR Scott Angus of the Polk High All Stars. Akron is currently in the midst of folding their franchise.

Finally center/QB/WR/drinking compadre Neil McKernan became the PIT's first ever "Mr. Irrelevant" getting selected last overall by the Dayton Triangles. Neil gets his name added to the following dubious cast of characters

And THAT is how the PIT rolls

My air miles card has some restrictions on it, so I am vacationing in Cleveland this year. I booked my first excursion tour with the ACME tour company. The Itinerary reads "5:00 am catch bus to factory, lunch break from 12:00 to 12:05, back to work to 7:45 pm, catch bus back to Motel at 8:00pm" They say it is an authentic work experience tour! Who's with me and Brownie!! Joakim Noah reply is still pending.....

As a thanks to all players who joined the inaugural division 1 draft league, the PIT will hold the division 1 championship game under the lights on October 1st at Nomads field. During the final weekend of the season (Sept 26th) the first place team will play the fourth seed, and the second place team will play the third place team. The winner of those games will play under the lights for the first ever draft league championship game. The usual swag and Stanley Cup trophy engravings apply. Good luck to all teams!
