First Football Manitoba now the Winnipeg High School Football League. The Winnipeg High School Football League’s purpose is to provide high school students and coaches a quality football experience in an educational setting while assisting the students in developing life long learning skills.
The PIT continues to forge partnerships with the football community to both promote the game of football and keeping people playing the sport we love! More information will ideally follow shortly as the PIT meets with the WHSFL in December to discuss the possibility of a high school division and cross promotion.
The WSHFL has also been added to our sponsors page which can be viewed here: http://pitfootball.com/sponsors

We have partnered with Football Manitoba on the endeavor! The PIT has been working toward capacity building with Football Manitoba, ideally the question is when and not if we can get a high school division up and running. There are still hurdles to cross, but people may not know that a high school touch football league used to exist about 23 years ago...and many players from that league went on to play in the touch football leagues around the city. Its where yours truly got my start in touch football!

Wgen i used to coach high school their was a flag football league that ran(not sure if it still does). It was good experience for the players. I found it really helped the qbs. I know of one big school in the city that already puts a team in for the reason of helping his players get the experience of playing the game and improving on their skills for tackle. Giving more reps. I think this is huge for the youth and the improvement of them. Also helps Manitoba make a bigger name for them selves.

It was some 7 on 7 flag football thing, yeah. It wasn't around when I played (or I never heard of it then), but a few of my flag football players from a few years ago played in that league as part of Kelvin High School. Regardless, this is a great partnership for the PIT, and as a teacher at a school with a high school team (at least for now), I can help spread that message!
