Messages for (weekly) POWER 10 RANKINGS

Comment Posted by BobFan Nov 12, 2014 12:25 PM

Weekly power 10 rankings of all divisional teams combined. A combination of factors determining where teams will be ranked each week will be part of how teams move up and down such as divisional competitiveness, overall team play, player performances, and winning style.

I am unable to watch all games so it would be appreciated if I can get updates for the teams that are eligible in the POWER 10. You can leave me any information by messaging my profile.

Lets keep it going and good luck to all teams!

Hmm no strength of schedule effects accounted for? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1568588-should-a-strength-of-schedule-metric-be-used-to-seed-mlb-playoff-teams (simplistic example provided admittedly) The Horde throws down a challenge to the D Experience for the #1 ranking!

haha, nice work Bob, you have rocketed the PIT into the era of analytics. As a stats geek this is what I do for a living when not drinking crown and throwing ducks. For example, ever wonder how Sidney Crosby would have fared in the age of Gretzky? Check it out here: http://www.coppernblue.com/2014/11/12/7193147/era-adjusted-nhl-all-time-leading-scorers-by-season-through-2013-14 Hint: Crosby would have lost the scoring race to Gretzky by about 100 points.

Maybe not necessarily era adjusted but indoor stats could be normalized to an 18 game outdoor schedule given the percentage of drives ending in scores in outdoor versus indoor. How would our indoor participants fare in the outdoor game? I think I just found a summer project to keep me busy.

lol, d experience gets the nod based on stats and divisional foes. I also saw them play. I passed a message off to 2 members who also gave them high votes.

You look at Horde and LW United. You still have 1 other team coming from behind. So unlike the polls in College Football you have to take into consideration future opponents for a 1st week poll. Horde and LW United can easily climb spots based on strength of schedule with 1 more win.

This is a good idea and maybe for next season a committee can be formed to give the #1 team overall a trophy or at least a handshake. I'm sure votes for an AND ONE format would be praised by all players.

Damian. I saw your team play it was a strong performance. My neighbor plays this week so I'm gonna watch. There are a few big games this week some I wont be able to watch. But looking at the schedule this poll may be turned upside down.
