The PIT is pleased to announce the offering its annual free ref clinic taught by two of Manitoba's most senior referees Cliff Kitchen and Brad Kelm. The PIT will be offering the in-class portion of the clinic on the evening of Thursday May 3rd and the on field practicum during the afternoon of Sunday May 6th. We will also be conducting a head refs clinic for those interested in learning to head ref. The clinic is not only informative but Brad and Cliff make learning the rules interesting!
Why attend the ref clinic? This is a very good way to make money while partaking in some football and fresh air. If you are looking to earn some extra cash on the evenings and weekends it does not get any better than this! Earn up to $37/game.
What we offer: High pay, extensive bonus system, fresh air, and a ticket to the the annual ref windup where the PIT execs take you out all-expenses paid! What other league does that for their refs?
When would you ref? Whenever and wherever you want. You set your own schedule.
Even if you do not want to ref, why not come out to the clinic to learn about the rules of touch football? The more that you know the more enjoyable your game day experience.
Here are the particulars for the FREE referee's clinic!

The 2012 referee clinic was a rousing success with a record 26 referee's showing up to refine their skillz! Here are a few pics of the clinic: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/467-2012-referee-clinic
Huge thanks to Cliff Kitchen and Brad Kelm for putting on another informative lecture. Over 50 years reffing experience between them, then definitely know their stuff! After the clinic ended a few bevies were had at Winn City Pub who should also be thanked for their hospitality and the free pizza.
Part II of the referee clinic will go Sunday at 1:00pm at Edward Shindleman Park. Here is a link to the location if you are new to the field! http://www.pitfootball.com/locations

You may have noticed a few new referees over the first couple of weeks of the season. A record 26 new refs showed up to the clinic (pictures above). The refs were put through a rigorous on-field test prior to the season starting. Even though the PIT has the most qualified referees with both in-class and on-field training cut our rookie refs some slack. Reffing is much harder than it looks. Our veteran referees should have their flags ready with our new objectionable conduct rules for those who go above and beyond simple constructive criticism!
Here are some pictures of our new recruits getting put through their paces by referee guru's Cliff Kitchen and Brad Kelm. http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/471-2012-on-field-ref-clinic Thanks again guys, your insight and knowledge has proven invaluable in helping grow the game of touch football in Manitoba.

The PIT recently treated its indoor referees to a few drinks and some pizza at our newest sponsor Boston Pizza. Here are some pictures of the festivities: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/488-indoor-referee-windup
Anyone wanting to referee/get their name in for the next windup can contact Scott or myself and we will hook you up with some on-field training.
