Messages for Flag Nationals This Weekend

Good luck to all teams this weekend as the Senior mens/womens's (18+), u18, and u16 teams will play at National Flag championships in Saskatchewan. Last year Manitoba was the only province in Canada to medal at every single event for both male and females. An impressive haul of hardware that the province hopes to replicate this weekend!

An incredible weekend of Football as Manitoba tried to match its medal haul from last year by medalling in every event! They almost did it again, with only the Senior Women failing to hit the podium. Manitoba is truly the non-contact capital of Canada!
Senior Mens:
The defending national champions from Manitoba failed to live up to expectations finishing a disappointing 5th in the tournament and out of the medals, however Manitoba's Most Wanted who is comprised of PIT Football's own Polk High, Rebellion, and BFFFFL shocked the tournament. Trysten Dyce took over as quarterback for MMW after the team had a poor showing in the round robin. Trysten never looked back, guiding his team to victory and winning offensive MVP along the way. Check out the gold medal game here:
U18s:
Both the U18 boys and girls took bronze...both had to do win their medals in overtime! Some incredible players coming through the pipeline that should be showing up in the PIT in the near future! Both teams were coached by PIT Football players, Kasali Akili, Alexa St. Jean, and Jon Franklin. The boys roster was comprised almost entirely of PIT Football players who played in the WHSFL division this past winter.
U16s:
Both U16 teams were underdogs in the tournament and ended up with impressive runs, both culminating with silver medals! The U16 girls team was coached by PIT Football player Ben Lazurak. We will hope to get the videos of the U16s and U18s up when they are posted.
An incredible weekend for Manitoba and for PIT Football, who had a hand in 4 of the 5 medals won by the province. Ideally next year we can go six for six!
Congratulations from the PIT Crew!
