Messages for Fall 2016 Indoor Registration Information
Posted by jon | Sep 06, 2016 12:47 PM |
The PIT is proud to announce its ninth season of indoor football! We have some great opportunities for players that were not available during our first eight seasons. All information on registration is available on our homepage www.pitfootball.com
The opportunities we provide this season center on the three most common questions asked over the years: Can we get a facility in the North? Can we get earlier time slots? And can we shorten the seasons? Lets take each of these questions in order:
1. Can we get a facility in the North?
This Fall we break ground at the new North Complex adjacent to Garden City Shopping Center allowing teams to choose to play in the North or the South. The new schedule request form which will be available shortly will allow teams to select their preference for the majority of their games. The North complex is the most state of the art facility in Manitoba and you will be blown away when you play there. The lighting and field is nothing short of remarkable. Plain and simple, this is the best indoor facility the province has to offer. Teams from the North will love not having to make the trek to the south nearly as often and teams from the South will love traveling to play in this breathtaking facility! 2. Can we get earlier time slots?
With such high demand for the indoor complexes, football was pushed to the periphery in terms of timing but with the addition of the North complex we will be able to start earlier...much earlier...prime time earlier! Games on Saturdays in the North will begin at 7:45pm with the last games running at 11:45pm! In the south and on Fridays in the North games will start earlier than in past years (10:30/10:45pm) and we have gotten rid of the last time slot of the evening, meaning no games will start after 12:45am. All teams will now have the opportunity to hit the lounge after games or hit the sack earlier! Teams will now be able to choose to have the majority of their games early (7:45pm to 10:45pm starts) or late (11:45 and 12:45 starts).
3. Can we shorten the seasons?
The PIT has been lucky enough to have the largest indoor league in Canada and that meant demand outstripped supply. Now that we have two facilities we can shorten the seasons. Both the Fall and Winter seasons are now considerably shorter. What this means for you is a longer break between seasons to recuperate and get some down time and we can now work around long weekends. Just like in outdoor we will no longer be playing football on any long weekends (Easter, Louis Riel Day, Spring Break long weekend). We will also be ending our Fall season on Saturday December 10th to give people more time to enjoy family, the holidays, and make those holiday parties! In the Winter we will be starting up well after New Years to give people time to recoup from their holiday adventures.
The North facility also is building its lounge as we speak, so we will be the only league to offer lounge services at both facilities and free parking - again the only facilities with on-site free parking! Everything else, including swag, sponsors, name engravings on the nicest trophies, free schedule requests, the most comprehensive insurance, etc will be made available to our membership. All this and we have kept registration at the same price.
We are capping Fall registration at just 88 teams as we have shortened the season time considerably, please keep that in mind that we will sell out earlier than usual especially in light of all the cool things happening this indoor!
Season begins October 28th and ends December 10th. Cost is $675 via etransfer, $700 otherwise.
Only in the PIT!

Season begins October 28th and ends December 10th. We will be finishing early to prevent all the issues with Christmas parties the week before Christmas and starting a bit later to ensure people are well rested after outdoor. I well deserved four weeks off before action begins in prime time.

Here is a recap of the need to know information for our rapidly selling out fall season:
The PIT is proud to announce the start of registration for its ninth season of Fall indoor football. The largest touch football league in Canada will be offering divisions of skill from elite to beginner. We will also be returning both the coed division (minimum two girls on the field at a time) and the Master's Division (eligibility requirement being 40+ years of age, may turn 40 during season and still be eligible). For the first time in Manitoba Touch Football history we will be offering both prime time spots and a choice of location (South) at the Subway Soccer Complex at the University of Manitoba and North (the newest and best facility in the city!) at Garden City.
As our membership has come to expect the PIT will offer the best facility, fields, competition, referees and swag in the most competitive and enjoyable environment. Our mandate is to provide players and teams with the best game day experience possible and our history speaks for itself!

Registration Deadline/League Cap:
We appreciate your support and will continue to run the best touch football league in Manitoba. However, due to the limited supply of available fields we will be capping the number of teams in the Fall at just 88! Although the registration deadline for the Fall season is Friday October 21st, teams are strongly encouraged to register early to ensure a spot in the league. The Fall season has sold out each year since our first season and we will assuredly be sold out once again prior to the deadline date. Please keep in mind that the league reserves the right to close registration early if we have reached the cap on teams. Don't get left out! The earlier you register the better chance you will be playing in Manitoba's largest touch football league.
