Swiss Chalet is back sponsoring a player of the week award for the outdoor season by offering an award to those who have some break out games during the Summer. Winners will enjoy two complimentary rotisserie dinners worth $32.00 (valid at the Kenaston Location only).

Going back to week #1 on this one as it has been a very busy start to the season. In Week #1 Darryl Dear of Sucksatchewan had 18 points courtesy of three touchdown receptions to lead the Sucksatchewan team to a close 24-18 victory over Old Skool and an early lead in the points race in Division 10/11.

Who is it? Well is Darryl coming down the field to drop more 6’s on your team.

Congratulations, please contact your PIT Crew to pick up your POW award!

Steve Nabess Sr takes home the second Swiss Chalet POW award after throwing for four touchdowns and taking down two interceptions in a week 2 victory for Agent Orange. Steve is currently tied for 4th place in interceptions and first in touchdown passes in Division 6, making him one of the biggest double threats in PIT history!

Now that Steve has a Sr beside his name, maybe he will also get another nickname to go along with it?

Congratulations, please contact your PIT Crew to pick up your POW award!

2 games this week, 8 TD passes & 3 interceptions... not bad, Nabess... too bad about dropping that easy pick-six last night; should've just used one hand instead.

In Week #3 Seth Sousa of Down to Football had a sack and two interceptions to keep the game close Blouses Football. Seth is fourth in the division in sacks and leads his team in points and sacks and is second in interceptions demonstrating his value to his team!

While the start to the season for Down to Football has been bumpy, there are some advantages to said bumpiness.

Week #4 saw the winless Beerhawks knock off the undefeated Ledge in an early season upset that was presided over by Keith Bourgeois who threw for four TD passes, had three quarterback sacks and ran in a single point in the victory. Parity reigns supreme and right now only six points separates first from last in an extremely competitive division 2.

Keith is definitely a mondo talent.

The Benders are off to their best start in PIT history finishing the month of June with a 5-2 record, in no small part due to Ben McBride’s play. Ben finished the month in the top ten in both sacks (fifth) and points (third) in Divisons 12/13. If Ben keeps up his play the Benders will definitely be favorites to win the first PIT championship…

…and defeat the robots in the first intergalactic Superbowl.

With July starting we will have a whole slew of new POW award winners...

The Blue Balls started the month of July off with two victories which put them over the .500 mark for the first time this season (5-4 in the parity filled Div10/11 split) due in large part to Steve Thomas who put up 24 points, 2 interceptions, 3 sacks, and added a TD pass to hit all four stat lines. Steve is currently fifth in the division in scoring and not far out of the top ten in each of the other categories making him a quadruple threat on the field and deserving winner of some complementary dinners!

Steve is too busy racking up stats to be much of a market dweller!

Blast from the Past had three games during the middle of the month and came out unscathed with a 3-0 record, in large part due to the play of John Jonker. Over that time-span John threw for six touchdowns, ran in three converts and had two touchdowns. The three victories moved Blast from the Past from near the bottom of the standings in division 12 all the way to fourth place! For his efforts John will receive the Swiss Chalet Player of the Week Award.

During the month of July John treated opposing defenses just like Al Bundy treats shoe store customers.

Remember the Titans earned their first victory of the season in July defeating the Beerhawks in a 36-26 barnburner. In that game Aaron Wold threw for five touchdown passes and recorded an interception to seal the game. Injuries have rattled the Titans roster thus far, but only last year the Titans limped through the regular season only to turn in on in the playoffs and knock off the top seeded teams.

If Aaron and the rest of Remember the Titans can string a few games like that together they will once again beat teams just as easily as Al Bundy beats up Kelly’s boyfriends.

RJ Padula wins the final Swiss Chalet Player of the Week for the month of July after registering 28 points in No Limit Training’s victory over Big Deal. The victory was the first and only for No Limit in July but this bunch of athletes will be scary come playoffs once they all get a handle on how to play the game. RJ already has a good handle on things leading his team in both interceptions and scoring!

I am sure RJ’s football career with be lengthier than Larry Brown’s!

Curtis Ray led the Clip Clops to victory over the Brew Bombers in early August in large part to Curtis Ray’s three touchdown passes. The Clip Clops have used a rotating quarterback system this summer and will have to decide on a player down the stretch but for this game Curtis was on point. Curtis is currently fifth in interceptions and eight in touchdown passes in Divisions 7/8 and will be vital to the Clip Clops success come playoffs!

In fact he may be so valuable his new nickname may be Grandmaster C!

Eric Hladkyj let both the offense and the defense in an upset shutout victory over the favorited Barracadus when he offered up three touchdown passes and an interception in a game the Nasty Boyz controlled from start to finish. Eric’s 24 touchdown passes put him fifth in the division in scoring. The victory put the division on notice that the Nasty Boyz can knock off any team in the division when they bring their A game.

Teams may be a little chicken to play the Nasty Boyz come playoffs!

Josh Hazelhurst has been a rock defensively all year for D.T.F and Old Skool and in the month of August Josh stepped up his game even more racking in 9 interceptions. Josh is currently second in interceptions in Division 9 and fourth in Division 10/11. With lock down defense like that we know come playoffs teams will be staying away from Josh’s side of the field!

Here are a few of Josh’s greatest moments!

The Barracudas are riding a two game winning streak heading into playoffs, included in which was a victory over their upcoming opponents Necessary Roughness in which Cole Corlett-Hedley had two interceptions and a touchdown. Cole didn’t play in the Barracudas final game which kept him just outside the top ten in scoring in Division 6 however he still managed a remarkable 16 interceptions on the season good for second place behind the pick machine that is Steve Nabess Sr.

There will be no eulogy for Cole’s football career.
