The PIT has officially signed a deal to play indoor football out of the brand new Garden City Soccer complex. The 120,000-sq.ft. indoor complex will be similar in design to SUBWAY® Soccer South and will feature a full-sized field that can be separated for half and quarter field play as well as 360 degree spectator concourse seating and 16 dressing rooms at field level.
From what I have seen and heard this new complex completely blows away the South complex and should be a fixture in the PIT for years to come.
What this means for you is the following:
1. The ability to request games in a facility closest to your teams home base.
2. No more games on long weekends, Bomber games, or this year the Jets Outdoor stadium game.
3. Shortened seasons with a minimum one-two weeks off between each of the four seasons in the PIT.
4. Earlier start times (no more late time slot to deal with!)
What does this mean for the PIT?
1. The ability to expand our operations in indoor while offering both earlier time slots and a place closer to those in the Northern part of the city.
2. The ability to drive our scheduler completely insane by adding a second complex and trying to deal with all the potential player conflicts.

When you say earlier time slots, is that just at the GCSC and the south complex still the same time slots?

Having it cut an hour off my trip (1/2 hour either way) is great news!!

We are working on the time slots now but we will no longer have the latest time slots (1:15am or 1:45am). Game times should be starting at 10:45pm but we are working on potentially moving this earlier as well! More information will be out shortly.

If you follow us on Twitter (@PITFootball) you were the first to see the pics of the new WSF North complex located next to Garden City Shopping Center. I was given a VIP tour of the facility yesterday prior to its grand opening last night. What I can tell you is that the new North complex is actually a considerable upgrade over the South facility...something I thought I would never say!
Anything that you may have had a problem with has been solved at the new complex. From additional locker rooms, to a completed parking lot, to a wider berth around the fields, to better lighting, all I can say is that we have come a long way from playing in hockey areas with boards and on the same turf that you would find around swimming pools. The fields are the same size as in the south (the only facility in the city to have what is indoor regulation flag/touch football fields) however the North facility has a much larger footprint. What that means for the league is we have stands completely surrounding both ends of the facility and a much larger area beside and behind the fields which should be a big help with safety. The new LED lighting is also simply unreal, its like playing outside. If a player tells you they lost the ball in the lights...they are lying!
The PIT football league is one of the first leagues to sign on with the new facility and we will guarantee you will love it. More info on season and game times will be forthcoming shortly as we are currently working on a contract that should make everyone happy (all I can say for now).
