Messages for Division difficulties

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the PIT, and organized football altogether, and I was wondering how skilled the lower divisions are. If anyone could take a stab at explaining where the divisions tier I would really appreciate it. I can't imagine division 10 being impossibly difficult, even for a beginner, right?

If you have never played organized football before, the bottom (div 10) is a good place to start. Or even just go and watch a div 10 game yourself and you can judge how difficult it is. Check the seasonal schedule on the website and click on the div 10 schedule. It will show you all the games and all the field locations, I'm sure there's a field near you since there are fields all over the city! But from own personal experience, playing in this league is a lot of fun. It's league is run excellently by the head guys Jon and Scott, but everyone else who helps out as well, including all the refs do a pretty outstanding job. That's just my two cents!

There is a skill level for everyone regardless of football background. Travers is correct in his statement that watching a few games is probably your best bet for seeing where you might fit in. There are plenty of teams to join and the league offers a free agent team for anyone who doesn't have a team of their own. We also offer indoor football which has over 20 different divisions of skill. Reading through the rules on the sidebar will also give you a bit of a heads up in terms of what to expect.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback guys, I don't know why it didn't occur to me to just go watch a game, solid advice.

I'm mostly just concerned about game speed, as I'm certainly more of a tight end than wide receiver at this point... but hopefully that changes after a couple weeks of sprints!

You dont have to be the fastest guy to play touch football.
