The first ever Barley Bros Player of the week award goes to...Troy Thompson!

Troy Thompson one of George Thorogood's Destroyers takes the POW award. While reports speculate that Troy might have had One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer prior to game time, what we can confirm is that Troy had one sack, one interception, and one touchdown pass in OBOS&OB's first PIT Spring League Game. While the first game for OBOS&OB didn't result in victory we know that this team will be legendary like their namesake!

While Barley Brothers could offer you one bourbon...or one scotch...you should really go for that one beer...or flight of beers! You won't be disappointed.

Congratulations Troy you will receive a $25 gift certificate from our friends at www.barleybrothers.ca

2nd week of the Barley Brothers sponsorship which means our second POW award. This time around John Perreta of All Night Wong wins the player of the week after throwing for five touchdowns in Wong's 33-26 defeat of Great White Hype Minus Kantot, Bastos, & 2 Past 2 Purious, but plus Cam & Al's Brother Terry (yes that is their name!). With the win the Hype move into first place in Division 6 and claim temporary supremacy in what has become perhaps the most heated/fun battle in touch football today!

John threw those five touchdowns to four different receivers as the Hype couldn't stop the spread offense. In fact John made the defense look as bad as this movie:

Congratulations John you will receive a $25 gift certificate from our friends at www.barleybrothers.ca

Barley Brothers has come on board to sponsor weekly player of the week awards for Spring season, offering $25 gift certificates to players who demonstrate how well they are at their craft!

The first ever Barley Brothers Summer craft POW award goes to Matt Zakaluzny of the Nasty Boys who through two games already has eight sacks and is on pace to obliterate the all time sack record. Matt is one of the reasons the Nasty Boys have got off to a 2-0 start and have given up only 22 points in the process (not quite as good as 21 or 24, but still pretty impressive). Rushers share the rare blend of expendable and invulnerable. Hopefully Matt has more of the second quality than the first this season!

Our second Barley Brothers player of the week award goes to Barry DeJaeger of Awkward Snap. You wouldn't know that Barry had taken a year off from football after he dropped 20 points on the Warpigs. Barry's stat line read three touchdowns and two converts in the offensive outburst. Awkward Snap may be off to a tough start in the season but once these vets get their game legs back they will make a strong push in division 6.

Here are a few pick up lines that you can drop on the lovely ladies that frequent Barley Brothers:

Week 3 is now in the books and Richard Lynch of the MegaPowers has secured the most recent Barley Brothers POW award.

Richard scored two TDs on offense and had two interceptions on the defensive side of the ball to secure the MegaPowers first win of the season in an 18-14 victory over Awkward Snap. Richard currently sits in fourth place in picks in Division 6 and if he keeps up the pace on offense he would be the perfect double threat...or in the case of the great H Jon Benjamin Richard will easily star in any situation he puts himself in.

Week 4 comes to a close which means we have a new Barley Brothers POW award. This week the award goes to Christian Steeds of Da Beers. Christian had 2 sacks and a touchdown in Da Beers game versus the Ledge. While Da Beers didn't come out as victors in that game the libations served by Barley Brothers will definitely ease the pain...

John Mark Wilderspin of the Third and Longs is the Week 5 Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week. John leads his team in points and is second in both TD passes and sacks adding a sack, a TD pass and a touchdown to his resume with games against Hulkamania and the Fighting Elms this past week.

John is in his rookie season and is having a great start to his career much like this guy:

Jessey Ferreira is the week six Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week award winner. Jessey scored 10 points and registered 4 sacks in Below Average Show on Turfs 25-21 victory over the Barley Bros. Jessey currently is in second place in division eight with 19 sacks and is just a little off the pace for a record breaking season.

Is it irony or satire that Jessey wins the Barley Brothers POW by defeating the Barley Brothers? Nobody really knows.

Jason Lucarz of The Barley Brothers is the newest Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week award winner. In his first season Jason currently sits third in division 8 in sacks and capped off the past week with a six sack performance against division rivals Fat as F@ck.

Jason can use his gift certificate to tip back a few craft beers on the Barley Brothers and the PIT...maybe you will find true love while doing so! Warning: The PIT and Barley Brothers assume no responsibility for whom you take home after having one too many craft beers.

The week eight Barley Bros "Craft" player of the week award goes to Dan Trommelen of the Expendables after his two touchdown, fourteen point performance versus the Jeffery. Dan helped the Division 2 Expendables knock-off the Division 1 Jeffery in crossover action, marking the third Division 2 upset of the season. With the win the Expendables are back into the thick of things in the Division with multiple games in hand.

The Expendables smoked enough Jeffery in week eight that their night ended up like this:

Week 9 is in the books and our newest Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week Award goes to Christopher Kennington who had two scores and an interception in a thrilling 20-19 victory over Awkward Snap. The victory gave NFL Dynasty their first victory of the season who along with the Swafflens, Third and Longs, The Gentlemen's Club and Dirty Vikings all earned their first wins of the season in late July.

After leading Division 8 in interceptions in the Winter season, Chris is back strong and is just outside the leader board in Division 6 in the summer. Congratulations Chris "Don't Call Me Mancy" Kennington from the PIT Crew. Your gift certificate will be attached to a future game card.

Week 10 finished prior to the long weekend and what a week it was. Big games, overtimes, great individual performances and a Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week Award. The current POW goes to Robert Thompson of the Swaffelens. Robert scored 6 points and threw for three touchdowns in leading the Swaffelens to their first victory of the season, defeating Onslaught by a score of 40-12. Robert wins the award for his performance, leading his team to their first victory, and sharing the milk of human kindness.

If you don't know what a Swaffelen is check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swaffelen or ask your waitress at Barley Bros if she knows.

Week 11 in the PIT just wrapped up and with it the Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week goes to Matt Peterson of the Dirty Vikings.

Matt scored three touchdowns and added both a convert and an interception in the Dirty Vikings 31-8 victory over Go Deep this past weekend. After starting the season 1-9 the Dirty Vikings have really picked up the pace and have gone 3-3 over their past six games. While it has not been a banner year for Matt's crew so far this year, don't discount this team come playoffs if they can get their full roster out. Go Deep found out the hard way that these team can get it done when their roster is firing on all cylinders.

With playoffs approaching, the Dirty Vikings hope to sneak into the Division 6 final with some backdoor justice.

In only his second game in the PIT Kamal Chioua of the Gentlemen's Club reigns in the week 12 Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week award.

Kamal scored six points and added two sacks in The Gentlemen's Club narrow defeat at the hands of FUBAR. The Gentlemen's club is new to the PIT outdoor scene but it appears they are starting to pick the game up after a slow start to the season. The playoffs are the great equalizer and Kamal will ideally help the GC's victory march...and invasion of Laos.

Just like August, Week 13 is in the books and time to crown a new Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week Award.

Matt Sveinson of the Scoregasms blew his wad on the turf defeating Below Average by a score of 16-6. Matt threw a touchdown, had an interception and "broke the plane" for another six points. Matt is currently tied for 8th spot in division 8 in interceptions and is just outside the leader board in touchdown passes thrown. Matt has shown can go both ways with aplomb.

I guess with the Scoregasms I should watch my phrasing.

The first week in September drew the Chupacabra's regular season to a close and ended the greatest single season scoring season in PIT history. The current Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week goes to Brant Ginter of the Chupas who had only 12 points (pedestrian by his standards!) but those 12 points when added to the rest of the season accumulated to a record setting 272 points.

I am unsure if this record will ever be broken as Brant crushed the existing record by 61 points (the former record of 211 was set in 2012 by Shawn Pachet of the Snipers). Some players have been drinking the hateraide when it comes to this record but everyone should just give the man his props. If someone still has an issue with the scoring record perhaps Brant can use some of these one-liners to fend off the hate:
