John Forsyth Park was used for the first time tonight as Dreadnaught, Big Deal, Blazers and Villains took to the field Friday evening. John Forsyth Park is a full regulation sized field with no goal posts and no pads to be picked up or returned. The field itself was squared, lined, and given the full complement of hash marks, player boxes, numbers, and directional arrows prior to tonight's games. John Forsyth will instantly become one of the best touch football fields Winnipeg has to offer. Here are some pics of the field: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/401-john-forsyth-park

John Forsyth was cut and lined Friday for our second tour of duty. Considering the lack of rain, John Forsyth Park may be in the best shape of any field in the PIT repertoire and will be used as one of our two primary playoff field locations. John Forsyth was lined with the usual PIT extras you won't find anywhere else. Here is the field in all of its glory: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/414-john-forsyth-park-august-26th-2011

In preparation for the playoffs John Forsyth was lined and given all of the PIT extras that have been there from season start to season end. John Forsyth and Maple Grove will be used for all of the playoff games, with championship games going on the artificial turf of East Side Eagles field. Here is some pics of how the field is going to look for playoff games (plus our newest mascot makes an appearance): http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/418-john-forsyth-september-14th-2011

We will be lining Maple Grove over the next couple of days to ensure all teams get the best game day experience for the playoffs!

John Forsyth #3 was lined for the weekend's usage and given all of the PIT extras. In case you hadn't heard the PIT has acquired the use of 3 fields at John Forsyth for much of the remainder of the season.

Here is your first look at the new field: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/499-john-forsyth-july-6th-2012 The field will be lined once again in three weeks time.

Fields at John Forsyth have been switched from Field #1 to Field #3 for the weekend and beyond. This weekends games have been updated on the site, the remainder will be changed shortly. The PIT has decided to keep Field #1 in pristine condition for playoffs which are set to begin in just 4 weeks!

Field #3 was lined today in anticipation for tomorrows games, pictures to follow shortly.

John Forsyth was lined for the first time this season in time to start play last weekend. Grass was still not cut so I am pretty sure no one works for the city anymore doing that job. As a consequence we got out and cut and lined the field with the pictures of our handiwork found here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/591-john-forsyth-july-4th-2013

Having said city did send around their field investigator on Sunday. $45,000 a year to start and all he did was walk around John Forsyth Park and ask us what league was running the football games. Who needs grass cut when we have the field investigator wandering around...sigh.

For $45K, I'd mow lawns. Yep. I sure would. I'd also chase off the marauding bands of shadowy people using public spaces (which we pay for through taxes) without a permit, too. See? I'd save the city money.

Our newest field at John Forsyth was lined yesterday. Despite the rain, our tape measure being stolen, and Dave Robson demonstrating some disturbing flexibility we were able to finish of the field. The field location at Forsyth has been moved from the West side of the park to the area closest to the school. The schedule being updated to John Forsyth #1 on the website later today to reflect this change.

The schedule has been updated to show the switch of fields at John Forsyth Park. The three week rotation at the North field (along the road) has ended and as of Saturday we are now starting a three week rotation at John Forsyth closest to the school. The new field runs perpendicular to the old field. You can't miss it, its the brightly lined field 40 yards away from the old field next to the school!

The torrential rains yesterday might have put a damper on our newly lined field at John Forsyth but hopefully the force was strong with this field. To find out what I am talking about check out our handiwork at Forsyth: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/603-john-forsyth-august-14th-2013

Off to line Leila North in our never ending battle against the dark side (city of Winnipeg Parks and Rec!).

John Forsyth is back in the summer rotation for the first time this year and was recently lined by our resident Bob Ross who painted all the field accoutrements the PIT membership has come to expect. Only a few more linings on tap as the season starts to ramp up to the playoffs. That is unfortunate because everyday is a good day when you paint.

The PIT Crew is high as a happy little cloud.

John Forsyth was lined for the first time this season...and we probably should have used it more as the field is in great shape. The grass needed to be cut and the field marked out from scratch. PIT Crew members Dion Knol and Brent Sliwiany were given the task of doing the field entirely themselves, something they had never completed before. Check out their work here: http://pitfootball.com/albums/761-john-forsyth-august-2015

I must say they did A+ work and they are ideally the reason I will be retiring from field lining! When you see the guys please let the know you appreciate all the hard work they put in, especially considering it was a million degrees that day...which is why there are a few pics interspersed about how the ladies might have cooled off on a day like the one in which they had to line.
