The PIT has acquired the use of the Rods practice field for the 2011 season, which should make our St.James players very happy! Rods field is a regulation sized field, with no goal posts, so teams and/or refs do not have to pick up or remove pads. There is also plenty of parking off of the Amherst parking lot. The field location can be viewed here: http://www.pitfootball.com/locations

This brings the total number of new fields for the 2011 season to four! (Little Mountain in the Northwest, Rods in St.James, Paddington Park in the South, and Edward Shindleman Park in Tuxedo). The PIT is still in negotiations for a couple of more fields, and once we get word regarding those fields we will update the entire schedule.

Sweet fancy Moses! Is there anything you guys can't do when it comes to fields? I mean, I have some pansies playing some game called (ironically, I'm sure), "Ultimate," on my practice field; can you get rid of them for me? It's a real inconvenience for me and mine.

The three new fields Scott acquired today brings the total number of new fields the PIT has added to its stable in the last month to 8! These fields compliment the seven existing fields the PIT manicured last year. 15 fields from which to chose from? The PIT dynasty has begun and will ensure we have the resources for continued expansion of the league in the future.

Rods field was lined Monday with all the PIT accoutrements. The field is looking great. Hopefully the lines hold up considering it is supposed to rain the next four days!

Rods field got its second lining of the season this week. All fields are lined once every three weeks, however there wasn't much left of the linings after the all the rain. The grass had grown monumentally, pretty sure I mowed down some Triffids along the way.

Here is are some pictures of the harrowing action: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/492-rods-field-june-12th-2012

The PIT has recently reached an agreement with Rods field to use their game field for a significant number of games May through June this year. The field has consistently been a player favorite however we have had fairly limited access to the field over the past two years. With the new agreement we are getting a field that is reasonably central and perhaps the best playing surface around.

The PIT hopes to have a stable of over a dozen fields throughout the city this year and getting Rods field finalized was something that we as a league were striving for. More updates on field locations will be made available as we get the contracts finalized.

If you are new to the league and haven't seen Rods field here is what to expect! http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/475-rods-field-may-21st-2012
