Thanks to some hard work and a little luck the PIT scored a gem of a field in the south central area of the city. Check out the location here: http://www.pitfootball.com/locations

Viscount Alexander School is a regulation sized football field with no goal posts. Teams and/or refs will therefore not have to pick up pads nor return them (just go for beers right after games in the many locations just minutes away). There is also ample parking in the school lot or along the three streets the field borders. The PIT will be field lining Viscount Alexander School Friday afternoon so teams that play at that location on Friday will get the full game day experience.

Keep posted, the PIT is in the process of crossing some "t's" and dotting some "i's" before introducing another field within the next couple of days. No rest for the wicked, however we anticipate our membership will be very pleased about this new location.

Can I request for all my team games to be moved to this field since it is right across the street from my house and I think that I may have been the person to introduce it to the league.

Beers at Owen's after games. Parking is also available on Owen's lawn.

How much for taking a poop inside? Or can we just do that on the lawn?

Viscount Alexander was mowed and lined Friday prior to the games. There was so much grass to cut that it shut down our lawn tractor on a couple of occasions. Check out the pictures to see how lush this field is (and all the grass that was accumulated). Plus there are a couple Snipers/Sloppy Secondary pics from last nights games. http://pitfootball.com/albums/300-viscount-alexander-school Guaranteed that teams are going to really like playing on this pristine field.

Let us know what you think!

Viscount Alexander was cut and given some preliminary lining on Friday.

The field was squared off, with the outline, triple-lined endzones, and the 5, 10, 15, 20, 45, and 55 lined. Due to the heavy downpour yesterday, more rain expected throughout the weekend, and the fact that our bio-degradable paint is water-soluble, all meant the lining of the entire field could not be completed (but still better than you will find anywhere else!). More than likely we will be back to repaint the field once it drys for a few days, but we wanted to ensure that all teams this weekend had the best game day experience possible.

Viscount Alexander is a great field, so enjoy! Here are some pics of the work we did http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/311-viscount-alexander-school-august-14th-2010 (much of which was completed during the downpour!)

You may ask yourself why the PIT would line fields in the rain? Because we would rather do it twice then have teams play on fields once that have not been brought up to the standards that we have set for ourselves. On a side note, it may seem that Jon doesn't do much work on the fields. This is completely untrue, it is truly at least a two person job each time, and most times we convince a third person to operate the John Deere while we do the lining. Those who operate the camera get no "exposure". I decided to video what Jon does while I field line...

Acceptable!!!

Those of you who are considering playing in the PIT next year should compare the effort our volunteers and exec do compared to any other league in the city. We stand by the product you get during your "Game day experience".

Monday August 16th marked the day the PIT had Viscount Alexander School aerated.

Viscount Alexander is quickly becoming the favorite field of teams. We will most likely use Viscount for our preliminary playoff rounds. If you haven't already played there you are certainly in for a treat! If you didn't catch the pics listed under the Assiniboine Park link check them out here: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/312-assiniboine-park-august-17th-2010 In addition to seeing a baby kangaroo, the last couple pics show the aerator at Viscount Alexander in action.

Friday marked another day of lining and grass cutting at Viscount Alexander. The grass was again so thick that it needed to be carted off by the trailer load. Thanks to Mel Hersak of the Thundercats for his encouraging words regarding the work completed at, and the condition of, the field at Viscount Alexander. Assuming the weather cooperates Aldgate Park will be lined for our games starting there on Monday.

The last field lining of the year was completed on Friday. Viscount Alexander was readied for the final week of the season as well as the playoff quarterfinals and semi-finals. The PIT guaranteed full lines for the duration of the season and we just accomplished our goal. The only league in Manitoba to do so. If your fields are not fully lined on a regular basis, asked yourself "where are my league fees going?"

Here are some pics of what to expect from the the PIT during playoffs at Viscount Alexander. http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/324-viscount-alexander-september-18th-2010
