Messages for Little Mountain Sportsplex

Comment Posted by jon May 06, 2009 08:33 PM

Hi everyone,

We have created a new forum to update teams on field conditions, lining, and rainouts. For our first post we would like to announce that the PIT league has partnered with Little Mountain Sportsplex to provide a complete game day experience for all of our teams.

First: The fields do not have goal posts and therefore teams will not be required to pick up/return goal post pads

Second: We have worked with Little Mountain to ensure that their fully licensed 'Home Plate Bar & Grill' will be open for EVERY football game scheduled at the Sportsplex facility. We encourage all of our membership to drop by for a few wobbly pops or a bite to eat. You know the league administration will be frequenting the place! Obviously we want to make this league more than just about the game. While we all play to win, in the end its about good times with good friends.

Cheers

Jon

The Little Mountain Sportsplex football fields were aerated by the facility on Saturday May 16th. Fertilization of the fields will occur on or before May 25th. Field lining will commence on Sunday May 17th so that we are ready for our kickoff on Tuesday.

Little Mountain Sportsplex was squared off and the field was lined at five yard increments today. All the final touches will be up and running by the time the PIT league kicks off on Tuesday. The purchase of the laser field liner was definitely worth the money, you won't be disappointed by the lining!

We had the grass at Little Mountain cut prior to the games on Tuesday and put in all the finishing touches on the fields. Additions this year include hash marks, players benches, markings for converts, special lining for the goal lines, and field position numbers and markings. Hopefully all enjoyed the field which was in pretty pristine condition.

Nice Job Scott and Jon. Those were the best lined fields that I have ever played on. The lining was like playing at the stadium.

Both fields at Little Mountain were fertilized and cut today in preparation for our next set of games there on Tuesday. We will be rotating the fields at Little Mountain Park for the duration of the season to keep all of our fields in the best shape possible. The second (North) field will be squared off and lined on Monday as per the schedule.

Field lining was disrupted today due to the downpour. All the main lines on the second field at Little Mountain were put down but none of the extras you have come to expect from the PIT. If weather permits and we can get out to the fields the extras will be completed on Tuesday, otherwise they will have to wait until later in the week.

Fields were cut today, but due to the dampness of the grass we could not get on to paint all the lines. The field has the major markings, but none of the extras. We will get on to the fields as soon as we have a day or two of sun to provide teams with what they have come to expect.

Fields were cut earlier today. Fields were lined including five yard marks, hash marks, triple wide endzone stripes, player boxes, yardage numbers and directional arrows.

for those occasions where we forget which direction we're going?

Notice there are no directional arrows on the field! The cat demonstrates how some people have way too much time on their hands.

Keyboard cat, play Rey off!

Little Mountain was cut today in preparation for field lining on Friday. We will be moving the new field next to the current one and into a rotation to ensure the fields are well maintained, safe and of the highest quality.

And just for Rey we will try to make the directional arrows on the field extra large.

Paul, you happy??? Thanks again for reffing yesterday.

All the lines, hash marks, player boxes, numbers and the "Rey Page" sponsored directional arrows were added today in time for the weekend games at Little Mountain.

yes, but will we be able to see the yard numbers from outer space?

Comment Posted by jon Jul 04, 2009 04:04 AM

We are working on it.

We had Little Mountain cut today as it was getting a little long. We will be creating a new field parallel to the current field next week to ensure the best playing surface.

Comment Posted by rey Jul 21, 2009 04:50 PM

where is the little mountain anyway?

Comment Posted by Damian Jul 23, 2009 09:01 AM

I miss you Rey!

Little Mountain was cut and lined today. Might be our best lining job ever, if I do say so. We also moved the field to the North side. That field has been untouched since mid-June and is looking in great shape. Best to play on fields that are not used 7 days a week!

I agree, great job, the field was pristine tonight!

sure damian.
you SAY you miss me, then openly admit that you are looking at SCOTT's hair via satellite images.
thanks for nothing, man.

Little Mountain was once again cut and lined yesterday. The fields at Little Mountain continue to look awesome. We have been able to rotate fields throughout the year to keep them all in great shape. We have lined the fields approximately every three weeks during the season and had the fields cut about every two weeks. Enjoy.

yeah, but there's still no dr. pepper fountain at field side.

Comment Posted by scott Aug 19, 2009 10:33 AM

but there was diet cream soda in cans yesterday!

Comment Posted by scott Aug 19, 2009 10:35 AM

Plus I'm still waiting for Dr Pepper to send me a can for the Chinese Democracy album release.......

Comment Posted by jon Aug 19, 2009 11:10 AM

They only gave those free Dr Peppers out in the U.S. Plus you had to buy the album not illegally download it.

What is the field condition for the games today?

Comment Posted by scott Aug 19, 2009 11:26 AM

Long ball throw today, with funnel clouds around we should be able to hit Kansas! We may play on the alternate field if it's too soft.

Little Mountain was cut today and we rotated the field to the south side of the complex. The fields were also lined and given all the PIT final touches. The field looks great and the grass is lush as it has not been played on in over a month. If the weather holds we will also be cutting and lining Sherbo Cove on Friday for the homestretch of games in the PIT.

Enjoy the best lined and maintained fields in the city ladies and gentlemen!

Two fields at Little Mountain was cut and lined Saturday. The PIT crew also included all the hash marks, "Rey Page" directional arrows, triple lined goal lines, and yardage markers that you have come to expect. Little Mountain #1 is the field to your right when looking at the fields from the parking lot; Little Mountain #2 is the field to the left.

The Little Mountain Sportsbar and Grill will be open for all of the PIT's games this year so that teams can have a beverage or two after games right at the fields. All part of the game day experience.

Here are the before and after pictures of Little Mountain. http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/284 Just a heads up for what to expect to all teams who get to play at the complex the next few weeks. Only in the PIT.

Watch out for the attack cat.

Little Mountain was cut, lined, and all the extras added to the field on Monday afternoon. Little Mountain will be in play for three weeks until we rotate through to different fields which are currently being rested. Check out the newly "manicured" fields sans goal posts http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/294-little-mountain-2010

And yes, attack cat returns.
