Messages for PIT Teams at Nationals

This year we had three teams from Manitoba compete at Tournament of Champions over Thanksgiving weekend. Each team hoping to become the first team since the Avengers in 2011 to win a Touch Football National championship. Rebellion and Peg City were ranked within the top 16 teams meaning they had a chance to win Nationals. The Knights/Jeffery were ranked 17th just outside the top 16.
Rebellion and Peg City were relegated from Division 1 the first day as the teams unfortunately started 0-4. Rebellion won their play in game to stay in Division 2 playoffs, while Peg City were not as fortunate and were relegated to Division 3 with their loss to the Toronto Assassins. Rebellion was subsequently knocked off in the Division 2 semi-finals by the Hamilton Trojans 15-6.
Peg City faced the Knights/Jeffery in the semi-finals of Division 3 with the Knights winning 13-12. This eliminated Peg City from Nationals. The Knights went on to face the Montreal Terror Squad, winning a nail-biter with an identical 13-12 score take home the Division 3 championship.
Congratulations to the Knights/Jeffery for their title win. Ideally next year we have three teams in the top 16 competing for touch football supremacy.
