Messages for Field Changes for June
Posted by League Commissioner | Jun 17, 2022 04:02 PM |
Our field crew went out to line some fields this afternoon. Unfortunately both Assiniboine Park and Edward Shindelmen are unplayable. Assiniboine Park has a lake in the end zone still from all of the rain, while Edward Shindlemen has not been cut it seems this year and looks like a jungle. Our crew would have cut the fields themselves however their is a lock on the only entrance our machine can fit through to the field, preventing anyone from cutting it.
We have removed Shindlemen entirely from the first two weeks while we find out what is going on with the field. We have taken Assiniboine Park out of rotation this week, in the hopes that the end zone will dry out for next next week.
Please check your schedule carefully for any changes. Frank Whyte has been put into rotation the next two weeks. For our teams that prefer south end, our south end fields come into rotation in two weeks!
We apologize for any inconvenience, these changes are unfortunately out of our hands. Our sponsors Original 16 and Four Crowns will definitely be prepared for the influx of teams on th North side. Contact us to get your free pitchers of beer this summer courtesy of our sponsors!

More updates!
Unfortunately, both Frank Whyte and HS Paul are currently unplayable. Frank Whyte has not yet been cut this year. The grass was so long and thick that our mower was no match for it! We will get back to Frank Whyte when the city is able to cut it. HS Paul is undergoing some field repairs and about 20-yards of soil were dumped right in the middle of the field. We will have to wait for the soil to be distributed before we can get back on the field. Here are a couple of pictures: https://twitter.com/PITFOOTBALL/status/1538633274238509058
Instead, both fields will be moved to Lindsey Wilson Park - 445 Island Shore Blvd.

7v7 field is behind the courts - just follow the path
5v5 field is close to the playground structure, near the front street.
Both fields are looking awesome courtesy of our partners at Apex Field Lining!
Ideally, after the long weekend is completed the city will have caught up with their field maintenance. It was quite serendipitous that the season started late. We would not have been able to get on most of the fields prior to this weekend. Monsoon season has took its toll!
The website has been updated to reflect these changes. We apologize for this inconvenience.
