Hi everyone, the first ever Canadian Female Collegiate National Flag Football Championships will take place this May 6th and 7th in Ottawa Ontario. Any female flag football players who are attending post-secondary education are invited to try out for the Manitoba Provincial Team. Here are the specifics:

CANADIAN FLAG FOOTBALL NATIONAL COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (FEMALE PLAYERS)

DATES: May 6th and 7th in Ottawa, Ontario. Arrive May 5th. Return May 8th.
ELIGIBILITY: Female players attending post-secondary education (University, college, technical college, etc.). Players must be born in 2003 or earlier. Unfortunately, there is no men's national collegiate championship planned for this year.
TRYOUTS: Saturday March 19th from 3:30pm to 4:30pm at the Axworthy Health and Recplex at the University of Winnipeg (350 Spence Street) AND
Saturday March 26th 7:00pm to 8:00pm at the Winnipeg Soccer Federation North (770 Leila Avenue). Prospective players who are attending post-secondary schooling outside of Manitoba may be considered. Video footage of participation in flag football events may be used in the selection criteria for those going to school outside of Manitoba.
TEAM INFORMATION: Up to 12 players selected to the Provincial team, with up to 5 alternates selected. Selected players must compete as a team in the PIT Football Spring Season beginning April 8th. Football Manitoba and PIT Football will both contribute $1000 for a total of $2000 to reduce the costs associated with travel.
COSTS: Cost to tryout: Free
Players selected as team members or alternates will practice in the Spring PIT Football season. Cost to participate in the Spring season (approximately $75/player). Cost to participate in the national tournament (approximately $625/player).

A reminder that the deadline to register for the Provincial flag tryouts is this Thursday March 17th. Tryouts are free! Don't miss out an a great opportunity to rep Manitoba at flag nationals! Partial funding for the tournament provided by Football MB and PIT Football.
