It is that time of year again to pay homage to some of the touch football greats that have played in Manitoba. We have another stellar group of players and contributors as part of the 2021 Hall of Fame class!

Our next inductee into the 2021 HOF class is Rick Suffield who dominated the early days of the WTFL before going onto a legendary basketball career.

Congratulations to Rick Suffield who was inducted into the 2021 Manitoba Touch Football Hall of Fame in the Veterans category.
"To be considered for selection in the Veterans category a player’s or Team's competitive career must have primarily occurred prior to 2008 (the inaugural year of the PIT Football League), or have been retired from active playing for a minimum of two years. There is no minimum win or statistical criterion to be selected for this category as many statistics were not kept prior to 2008. Players and/or teams from all leagues in Manitoba's History of Touch Football may be considered in the Veterans category as we pay homage to the pioneers of the game of touch football."

A few highlights of Rick's' career:

One of the most dominant players in the early years of the Winnipeg Touch Football League (WTFL)
While statistics were not kept at the time, was constantly a scoring leader in the top divisions
Published his first basketball book entitled “Coaching Defensive Basketball: Becoming the Best”.
A speaker with NIKE Championship Basketball Clinics.
He coached the University of Manitoba Bisons Basketball team for 21 years and had over 400 wins as a coach!
