With Manitoba heading into Phase III of restoring services, changes will impact the initial rules set out for touch football. The updated rules can be found here: https://pit.redzoneleagues.com/menu/summer-2020-information

Of note:

Spectators will now be allowed at games. Spectators from different households must social distance and only game participants will be allowed in the player boxes.

Warmups are now permitted, so long as teams warm up away from the teams who are playing. Teams cannot enter the player boxes until the previous team has vacated completely. Teams will still have five minutes to vacate the player boxes after a game.

With Manitoba having only 7 known active cases currently, it is quite possible that we will be starting the season with no cases of Covid in Manitoba. As we enter Phase IV, we will further limit the number of restrictions on play. Ideally we will be playing with no restrictions shortly if all holds well.

Good day,

i'm playing slo pitch this summer and the league strongly recommends we use/wear batting gloves as much as possible, is it possible to find out or ask why manitoba health is saying no to football gloves, but for baseball they are strongly recommending batting gloves for baseball?

We were told people will wash their hands but not their gloves. Football players also like to spit in their gloves to make them more tacky. Sounds gross...but it happens all the time. So in football you are always touching other players (intent of touch football). Please remember, these are Manitoba Health guidelines not PIT Football guidelines, we just are happy we can get the season started. Plus we will now find out who can really catch!
