New season, new race to see who will be crowned the Most Valuable Player of the new year as voted on by your peers. Each game an MVP will be selected by the opposition and the player with the most votes come the end of the season will be crowned the league MVP. Two-time champ Jason Gibbons is our reigning MVP, can he be the first person to be a repeat MVP? Winners receive an engraved MVP belt and all the accolades that go with being the best touch/flag football player in the Province. As we enter week #4 the race is starting to heat up, with over 20 players positioning themselves for the belt!

As we enter week #5 it looks like we might have a photo finish! Only players with at least 3 votes were counted this week as the number with 2 has grown exponentially since last week.

Jason Gibbons has made the hand off of the championship belt, it is time to crown our newest MVP! This year we had a tie so we had to settle it by the MVP tiebreaker which reads "in the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by who has played the least number of games in the season under question."
With that here is your final MVP standings
1. Ramey Goetz, Jordan DeMerchant (8 votes)
2. Ben Lazaruk, James Teschuk, Jason Cassie, (7 votes)
3. Braden Kowalski, Danny Harris (6 votes)
4. Abbas Butt, Alex Christie, Matt Sypulski, Raza Butt, Ryan Loewen (5 votes)
5. Andrew Little, Brandon Aguilar, Brett Pruen, Bryce Kraushar, Jesse Olafson, Joshua Frey-Sam, Luc Rodriques, Patrick Allan (4 votes)
In order to break the tie we looked at the number of games played for Ramey and Jordan. Jordan played in 24 games, Ramey played in 14 games. Thus Ramey is crowned as she had a remarkable 8 votes in her 14 games, meaning she was selected as MVP in over 57% of the games she played in!
