PIT Football has become the official Manitoba affiliate of the Canadian Flag Football League!

Football Manitoba and PIT Football have partnered to launch the Manitoba affiliate of the new Canadian Flag Football League (CFFL). The CFFL is a national flag football league sanctioned by Football Canada and provincial sport organizations which will start play in January 2019 to promote flag football and prepare provincial teams for both national and international competitions. Teams who participate in the CFFL will be eligible to compete at Football Canada sanctioned flag football events.
In January, Football Manitoba and PIT Football will be hosting a CFFL Flag Football Regional Championship qualifier. The top two teams from both the CFFL men’s and women’s leagues will compete for Manitoba at the Western Regionals held in Winnipeg May 18th to 20th. The winners of this Regional event will then contend for the National title in Saskatoon July 26th to 28th. The regional tournament will consist of the top teams from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Last year, the Manitoba men’s team won the national event and will receive an automatic berth into the National tournament as Team Canada. As such, Manitoba will be able to send three men’s teams to the Regionals in 2019, in addition to the two women’s teams.
To participate in the CFFL, every player must be registered with Football Manitoba. Cost to register a team in the CFFL will be $700 per team, payable to Football Manitoba, plus a $39 per player fee (includes Football Manitoba membership fee, Football Canada membership fee, and insurance). Only players registered through Football Manitoba will be eligible to compete in the CFFL and at either the Regional tournament in Winnipeg or the National Tournament in Saskatoon.

The Manitoba affiliate of the CFFL will run during the PIT Football Winter season which will culminate with the victors playing at the regional tournament.
Football Manitoba CFFL League Information:
Season kickoff: Friday, January 11th
Season End Date: Saturday, March 9th
Start times: Fridays/Saturdays between 7:45pm and 12:30am
Registration Deadline: Friday, January 4th
Cost: $700 (plus individual player insurance of $39 per player)
Location: Winnipeg Soccer North (770 Leila Avenue) or Subway Soccer South (211 Chancellor Matheson Road)
