The 10th annual PIT Football team captain all-star games were played on the weekend, and what games they were! Nearly 40 teams were represented in the all-star game, with each captain taking home some super sweet "ProBowl" jerseys courtesy of our league sponsor Harv-Al Sportswear. These were the nicest jerseys we have ever had, Harv-Al outdid themselves!
In game #1, Blue Bombers Team #1 (Yellow) defeated Team #2 (Purple) by a score of 32-31! The Yellow team came back from multiple touchdowns down in the second half. Keith Bourgeois scores the game winner on the last play of the game. An incredible finish to an incredible game. This may have been the best all-star game in our history.
In game #2, Blue Bombers Team #4 (Yellow) defeated Team #3 (Purple) 34-27. Another game that came down to the wire, with Team #4 also making a big second half comeback led by Garrison Trinder's 7 points and 2 touchdown passes and Mike McCheyne's 18 points.
Congratulations to game MVPs Rajwinder Dandiala (Oay Co); Jamie Morris (Air Farce); Jessica Smilar (Down to Football) and Charlene Au (There's No Crying in Baseball) who took home game MVP honours. These players showed that those in the lower divisions can hang with the top division players. For their efforts they all took home gift certificates from Red River Steak Company and Swiss Chalet.
A huge thanks to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for helping put on the all-star game, and to all of our sponsors for the awesome prizes handed out. The PIT Football league pledges to give away $10,000 in prizes in 2018 (as we did in 2017), and we couldn't do it without all of their support!
