This past summer season we inducted the 2017 Hall of Fame Class. We have updated the HOF and are now paying homage to some of the greatest touch football players in Manitoba history,
Chris Harwood is just the second person inducted into the Team Captain category of the Manitoba Touch Football Hall of Fame. The criteria for the contributors category is as follows:
"To be considered for selection in the Team Captains category a player must have been a team captain for a minimum of 20 seasons of touch football (indoor and outdoor included). Team captains are the unsung heroes of touch football and this is the first Hall of Fame to pay tribute to the players that go above and beyond for their teams in an administrative capacity."
Chris began his playing days in 1998 with the Cobras of the Winnipeg Touch Football League (WTFL) and took over the team captains role shortly thereafter. Chris has played his entire career with the Cobras, a rarity nowadays as it has become more frequent for players to jump from team to team. Chris has also captained his team in all the major touch football leagues (PIT, UTFL, WTFL) with the exception of Canford. A few highlights:
Began playing in 1998
Team Captain for nearly 20 years
Played with the same team since 1998
1 PIT Football Championship
Multiple championship final appearances
