Yesterday our touch football community and more importantly his family and all his past and presents teammates lost a great person. It’s with a heavy heart that I regret to tell you all Zach Smith passed away suddenly from complications due to juvenile diabetes. Zach is a wonderful young man who loved football to the fullest and loved playing touch. His Dad Will and I have been teammates for over a decade and have had the privilege of being able to raise our sons and ultimately play touch football together. Those memories are irreplaceable and I am so proud of the boys. To everyone that played with or against Zach and Will please take a moment to reflect on the wonderful lives you have and the wonderful friends you’ve made playing football. Out team will hold a moment of silence for Zach before our next game and I ask you to consider the same. RIP Zach. Keep throwing those amazing passes and showing off that wonderful smile up there.

Just 22 years old. The football community is stunned at the loss of a great player and person. Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Zach.
