Please allow me to take this moment to re-introduce to you the PIT Football League. It has been nine years since a small 40 team indoor league began in 2008. The Players Indoor Touch Football League as it was known was created as a high-end alternative to other leagues in the city offering the best playing fields, referees and stats collection in recreational sports. We began with idea of creating a game day experience that would be second to none.

With no intention of beginning an outdoor football league at the conclusion of our indoor season we received plenty of encouragement from our indoor members that if we could translate what we had accomplished in our indoor season to an outdoor league we would have a great foundation for providing touch football programming year-round. After much debate we resolved to create the finest outdoor season in Winnipeg touch football history by holding to our philosophy of offering the best game day experience to our membership. We had 24 teams register and our name was shortened to the PIT Football league to acknowledge we were no longer limited to the indoor game.

While we started very small, the PIT Football league is now the largest touch football organization in Canada with over 4000 members and nearly 400 teams playing across four seasons of touch football. We have now grown to the point where the league is recognized both at national and international non-contact football events. The continued growth of the league meant we needed to bring in a full-time league commissioner to run the day-to-day operations of the league. As president of the league I have moved away from the day-to-day organization of the league to focus on improving the game at the provincial and national levels as a member of both the board of Football Manitoba and Football Canada.

While we are the largest touch football organization in Canada we are not resting on our accomplishments. Here are some of the things we have in store for our players moving forward:

* Continued commitment to offering the best football experience including remaining the only league to offer certified referees, consistently lined fields, and a league that welcomes all levels of skill.
* Partnering with new organizations and sponsors to make your game day experience even better with exclusive discounts, prizes, and gear available exclusively to PIT members.
* Offering games at Investors Group field including having championship finals at IGF.
* Making the Team Captain Pro Bowl game and events even bigger and better.
* Increasing our social media presence to include Facebook and Instagram as well as revamping our website to make our league more interactive for our players.
* Announcing our second class of inductees to the Manitoba Touch Football Hall of Fame.
* Developing high performance programs for both the Provincial Flag and Touch football leagues, including being on the forefront of getting the sport certified for the Olympics (yes that is happening!).
* Commitment to providing our games at the best venues.
* Using only Football Canada certified regulation indoor and outdoor fields for our games.

We appreciate all the support that our membership has provided to us over the last nine years and we will continue to dedicate our efforts to give you the best value for your registration dollar as the best recreational sports league in the Country.
