The first night went off without a hitch as 24 games were played on Friday (another 28 will be played tonight). Players will without exception impressed by the newest and best field house in the province. The Garden City complex is so state of the art, just beautiful facility. The North complex also has five yard increment markers painted in the red zone to help with spots, they have thought of everything! We had more than one team who came from the South last night who remarked that they wanted to continue playing games in the North...its that good!
A big shout out to our referees. We now require at minimum 16 referees per night. Our refs did a great job last night helping organize everything and keep the game running smoothly. We have over a dozen new referees training this weekend and next to help continue to continue to offer a full slate of refs at all of our games. The rookies definitely pulled with weight last night. The PIT continues to be the only league to offer referee certification and training, the reason why we can say without question we offer the best officials in rec sports.
