A great day of football yesterday as the MAACO Team Blue All-Stars took on the MAACO Team Green All-Stars. Both teams came out a little rusty on offense as the teams learned how to gel but after the first quarter this game turned into a offensive juggernaut as Team Green eventually outlasted Team Blue 34-20. A couple of late interceptions by MVP Eric Melo including an insane one-hander ultimately sealed the win for Green.
Team Blue was lead by the six points, two TD passes and one interception by JJ Mikolash which garnered him MVP honours. Play of the day went to Ray who picked off Keith on a long bomb, stared him down, then chugged a beer. Keith Bourgeois had a stat in every category scoring six points, throwing for two TDs and having both a sack and interception. Courtney Dyck did the ladies proud scoring a TD on Jamie "Fastest Man" Wilson, picking off a pass, and going off on a 70 yard bomb. But the day belonged to Eric Melo of Can't Cut List who scored on a nice touchdown catch, but had three interceptions in locking down Team Green's offense and sealing the game with a pick on Green's final drive.
Some great sportsmanship shown today and some recruiting as players were already discussing their indoor rosters and signing free agents at the event!
