George McDowell received its first lining of the summer. With all the rain the field is in perfect condition. Always a favorite of members of the PIT, you will once again not be disappointed. Brent and Dion did a great job putting down player boxes, hash marks, five yard increments, numbers, directional arrows and all of the other little touches that make the PIT fields the best in the city.
Unfortunately during this round of lining our lawn tractor exploded...like exploded. The lawn tractor has given the PIT eight great years of service...and we rode her hard! George McDowell was lined for a second time, a week ahead of schedule, but much needed due to all of the rain lately that has played havoc with the fields. Thankfully we received our lawn tractor back in good working order so we were able to cut the jungle that had become McDowell! We will be back to line McDowell after the first week of August to ensure we have the field at McDowell lined to your expectations for the duration of the summer.

Despite George McDowell being cut and lined just two weeks ago, the combination of rain and sun has made the grass explode. Luckily we have our mower back from its repairs and were able to get in and recut and reline McDowell. The field lining/cutting budget has kind of been blown up due to the large amount of precipitation but it has been worth is as McDowell is in pristine shape and is now rivaling other fields as perhaps the league's best!

We really blew the field lining budget on George McDowell this summer. With all of the rain and sunshine the grass grew at incredible speeds and we had to get in and cut and line the fields much more than we would have usually had to do. Good thing we own and operate our own machinery (the only league to do so) so that we could keep on top of things. Unfortunately we only have McDowell for two more weeks and we know it is quite the favorite of our players. The PIT is proud to announce that we have re-upped with George McDowell School to run games at that location during July and August. George McDowell has always been a player favorite and we are happy to be back once again this summer. Team schedules have now been updated to reflect games being played at George McDowell.
