Messages for Booster Juice Sportsmanship Award of the Week

Comment Posted by jon Jul 04, 2016 02:16 AM

Booster Juice and the PIT have teamed up to create a unique award for our players which will award sportsmanship over athletic prowess with a weekly award that will go to a player that demonstrates sportsmanship above all else during their games. Referees will submit their recommendations each week for a player that demonstrates honesty, honor and gamesmanship. The winner will be able to fuel up with a free Booster Juice for their efforts.

Keep posted for winners as we will be posting them henceforth in the PIT!

The first Booster Juice Sportsmanship award of the season goes to Brent Marshall of the Mustard Tigers. In a recent game versus the Kraken his team constantly yelled that the rusher was sacking the Kraken quarterback. This persisted throughout the game until the rusher (Brent) finally told his team to stop yelling for sacks because he WAS NOT sacking the quarterback. After that the Mustard Tigers fell into line and let the referees call the game.

This act of sportsmanship calmed tempers, made the game flow better, verified the referees judgement and in the end earned Brent a free smoothie from Booster Juice.

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends Brent on his sportsmanship!

Our second Booster Juice Sportsmanship award of the season goes to Jesse Clarke of the Southside Trojans. In a recent game we had a referee that was injured and as the quarterback Jesse picked up the bags and handed them to the referee AFTER EVERY PLAY on offense. This small gesture helped out our referee immensely and ensured the game was not interrupted. Small things make the biggest difference, a difference that our referee nominated Jesse for our sportsmanship award.

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends Jesse on his sportsmanship!

The third Booster Juice Sportsmanship award goes to Jordan Moore of Law Firm who was nominated by two different officials for a recent game in which he consistently complimented the opposing team for their plays made on the field. After the game Jordan helped the referees collect all of the pylons surrounding the field. Not only does Jordan demonstrate his sportsmanship on the field he is currently tied for first place in Division 6 in interceptions while also holding the all-time single season interception mark with 30 set last year. Goes to show that the best players in the league should also lead by example in the sportsmanship department.

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends Jordan on his sportsmanship and Booster Juice will provide him with a free Booster Juice for going above and beyond in his game.

Booster Juice is generously offering one free smoothie to each player in the PIT who exemplifies sportsmanship in their game play. After all, no one is getting paid to play the game of touch football and it makes the game a whole lot more satisfying when players play the game the way it is supposed to be played!

Paul Frias of Bad Company is the next recipient of the Booster Juice sportsmanship award. Paul is always courteous on the field, is never in an argument with an opposing player or referee and is just a diplomatic off the field. Paul is also very busy off the field and his schedule requests can be a bit daunting for the PIT Crew. Despite our inability to honour all of his requests, especially during a season in which there have been plenty of rescheduled rain outs, he is always very understanding the process and appreciative of the requests he does receive.

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends Paul on his sportsmanship and Booster Juice will provide him with a free Booster Juice for going above and beyond in his game.

The man, the myth, the legend. Jim Bell of the Knights is a fiery competitor on the field but never oversteps the rules, never gets in an altercation with a referee and to top it off is one of the best players to ever step on the field of touch football. I don’t think Jim has got his due as a player which is remarkable considering with the Eagles he was a multiple time Elite champion and continues to helm the Knights to Division 1 glory. If there is someone that you should emulate on the field, go out and watch Jim Bell throw a game.

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends Jim on his sportsmanship and Booster Juice will provide him with a free Booster Juice for going above and beyond in his game.

Recently Remember the Titans showed up to the field with just six players and their opponents The Jeffery graciously played the entire game a man short so that the game could be both more competitive and enjoyable to everyone participating. Its shows of sportsmanship like that they make the game more fun to play and earn you a Booster Juice POW award in the process!

While we all play hard to win, in the end we must remember that it is a game and sportsmanship should be held in higher regard than wins, losses or stats.

The PIT commends The Jeffery on their sportsmanship and Booster Juice will provide the team with some Booster Juice for going above and beyond in their game.
