Messages for Summer Divisional Alignment

The Divisions for Summer have been set. Based on what we learned from our team captains last year, teams were looking for 1. Variety of teams to play against and 2. Having a legitimate shot to compete for a title at year's end.
Based on these ideas we have decided to try to make larger divisions to provide more variety and have these divisions split for playoffs to ensure the teams that might fare a little worse are still competing for a championship.
For divisions with 10 teams in them they will split for playoffs with the top 5 teams competing for one championship and the bottom five teams competing for a separate championship. Teams will play each other twice during the regular season and then split for playoffs. Divisions with 7 teams will play each other 3 times during the regular season with no split for playoffs with the exception of divisions 2 and 3 which have crossover vs Div 1 so we will split that divisions for playoffs as well.
Because Divisions can be split for playoffs there may be players on more than one team in a division. We will allow rosters as posted to stand however you will not be allowed to add a player from this point on from within your division. All other players from outside your division can be added if approved by the executive.
We hope that this makes for an exciting year with lots of variety and come playoffs allow all teams to feel they have a shot at getting their names inscribed on the nicest trophies in rec sports! The additional number of championship games will significantly add to the costs and logistics of running the league but we felt that this was a great way to give back to our teams who have made us the biggest and best touch football organization in Canada.
