8v8 Flag Football is designed to offer an alternative to tackle and touch but brings in the best of both worlds. If you are a former tackle player that doesn't fit in with the touch football structure; flag is a perfect alternative for you. All those bigger guys who are not fast or utilized on your touch team now become some of your most valuable players. We offer controlled blocking and jamming to simulate a real CFL football experience and allow teams to expand their play calling. Running the ball is now an extremely effective and viable option, the play calling options are limitless.
What we offer:
- Fully lined football field with a 8v8 set up for maximum awesome
- 15 regular season games and all teams make playoffs
- 3 certified referees – best in the province IMO – each year they become more elite and adapt to this new but growing sport
- The closest thing to playing tackle football
- Our own set of rules to keep the game fun and competitive without the injuries
- Best fields in the city
- Best game day experience out there
- For the Players by the Players
Touch VS Flag:
- In touch you can be a break out player but one finger tip brushing your jersey will stop you in your tracks. Well in flag if the defender does not have your flag in his hand, you are free to sprint to touchdown glory. No more missed tag calls by the ref, its simple if your flags are still on your belt - keep running!
- With controlled blocking and jamming combined with the QB being able to take the snap under centre in flag - you can now set up legitimate running plays. This will open a whole new aspect to your offensive scheming.
- To the rushers out there, you no longer have to line up 5 yards back and chase after that QB. In flag anyone can rush from anywhere as long as you are 1yd off the line of scrimmage, just like the CFL. Blitz your whole team at once if you like.
- In flag you now have an offensive and defensive line, so all you guys who are too big to be running fly routes all day have a home protecting your quarterback, and are still all eligible receivers.
- In flag you get 3 timeouts per half and a stop clock for the last 3mins of each half. This results in some great end of game comebacks!
Some misconceptions I have herd from teams:
"Flag is too rough, we will get injured" - Yes we do allow blocking and jamming, but you can only block between the shoulders and hips. So there is no cut blocking and you cannot load up your blocks to "explode" a player. We want you to be able to open a hold or slow down a receiver but you cant attempt to crush them or shoulder check them like you may see in tackle football. We have eliminated stiff arms, fumbles and kickoffs to reduce the risk even further.
"I don't know any big players for linemen" - Size does not really matter, it is nice to have a big body in front of you which takes more time to get around. But great linemen in this format are quick and get into position to give the quarterback time to throw.
Any questions about the rules or the game or if your team would fit in to the flag structure. Contact me (Chris Wentz) - email and phone number can be found on the Contact Information tab to your left. Play Flag!

This is American Rules 8v8 Flag, so keep in mind our rules have some major differences but this will give you a general idea of how the game looks.
Major Rule differences to note: We have no stiff arms. We must give 1yd off the line on defense with NO 3 point stance allowed. We have 3 downs to reach 10yard first down (they play 4 down half field).
