Despite the frigid weather the start of the eighth season of PIT outdoor football is just around the corner. From our humble beginnings with 24 teams across 5 divisions, the PIT has become the largest touch football league in Canada! In 2016 we will be offering at least 11 divisions of skill in addition to the 8 on 8 limited contact flag football division. As our membership has come to expect, the PIT will offer the best facility, fields, competition, referees, and swag in the most competitive and enjoyable environment. Our mandate is to provide players and teams with the best game day experience possible and our history speaks for itself!
Summer 2016 Season Information:
Season Starts: Monday May 16th (weather permitting)
Season Ends: Sunday, October 2nd (weather permitting)
Registration Deadline: Saturday May 7th
In Person Registration Held: Thursday May 5th
Location: Boston Pizza 690 St. James Street from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The PIT and Boston Pizza will be cooking up some deals for all team captains in attendance, so keep posted. Team captains as always may pay earlier than the deadline. Cash, certified cheque and etransfer accepted. Touch Football 7 on 7:
Divisions: 11 levels of skill, 18 regular season games, all teams make playoffs
Cost: $1950 (inclusive of GST and insurance if paid by etransfer, same price as last summer!) $2000 if paying by any method other than etransfer.
Flag 8 on 8 Limited Contact (3 man pass-eligible line with safe blocking):
Divisions: The PIT will once again offer two divisions of skill: competitive and beginner/intermediate. Teams will receive 15 regular season games, all teams make playoffs
Cost: $1650 (inclusive of GST and insurance if paid by etransfer) $1700 if paying by any method other than etransfer.
Coed 5 on 5 Division (same sized field as indoor, only outdoor!)
Divisions: The PIT will once again offer two divisions of skill: competitive and recreational. Teams will receive 12 regular season games, all teams make playoffs.
Cost: $1250 (inclusive of GST and insurance if paid by etransfer) $1300 if paying by any method other than etransfer. Season will begin at the end of June after the end of the women's tackle season.
Note: All late registration must be accompanied by a $50 late registration fee!

We already have 28 teams signed up for the Summer season just one week after registration began. Ideally this is a sign that we will be growing as a league for the summer! Keep in mind we will be playing a significant number of games out of Maple Grove this summer, Winnipeg's premier destination for outdoor athletic fields (and a lounge on site never hurts!).
We have also introduced a new coed division which already has four teams as well as a free agent team for each of men's, coed and flag! If you do want to participate in any of the free agent teams please contact us and we will add you to the team!

A reminder that in-person registration is this Thursday May 5th at Boston Pizza on St. James Avenue. Registration will be from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Boston Pizza will be giving away some product on site and we will also have Keener jerseys there to discuss sublimated jerseys for those teams looking to upgrade their gear.
Final registration is due on Saturday May 7th. All schedule requests must be in by May 7th. No schedule requests will be honoured after the 7th.
