A big thanks again to the record 70 teams that registered for the Spring. Those 70 teams will be competing for a record 16 Spring championships (time once again to buy more t shirts)! Here is a breakdown of the divisions:
Coed:
Coed will split for playoffs with both a competitive and recreational division based on the standings at end of season.
Elite:
All teams make playoffs. The Senior Men's Flag Football team will not participate in the Elite playoffs. However the winners of elite will play the Provincial Senior Men's Flag Football Team in another championship. Elite division teams and two Division 1 teams will also be playing one game of football using the flag football rules to help prepare the Provincial team for Nationals at the end of May.
Division 3:
Top four of the five (non-flag) teams will make playoffs. The U20 flag team will not participate in Division 3 playoffs, however the winners of Division 3 will play the Provincial U20 Flag Football Team in another championship. Division 3 teams will also be playing one regular season game of football using the flag football rules to help prepare the U20 Provincial team for Nationals May long weekend.
Division 5:
All four teams will make playoffs. The two Masters teams in the division will not participate in the Division 5 playoffs but rather will have their own finals to decide who the wisest/beer drinkiest football players in the land are.
All remaining divisions:
Top four of six teams will make playoffs.
The addition of the flag teams will make things very interesting for Elite, Division 1 and Division 3. Ideally these games will help catapult the two Team Manitoba teams to the podium come May!
