The finals for the U20 Flag football championships go tonight at 7:15pm. The winners of the U20 division will face the winners of the High School Division with the victor receiving an all expenses paid trip to Halifax May long weekend courtesy of Football Manitoba! Here is a rundown of the match ups:
Winner U20 Division: Team PIT Football
The bad news bears of touch football pulled a big upset in the U20 finals besting the previously undefeated Channel 4 News 18-6 in an uncharacteristically low scoring game. Both defenses locked down their respective offenses with Team PIT Football coming out on top after another stellar game by Jeremy "Three Touchdown" Kornelson.
Winner High School Division: Vincent Massey Trojans
Vincent Massey kept their winning ways going, winning first the High School Tackle championships in the Fall and then the High School flag division in the Winter. Even though Massey were missing some key players due to commitments to tackle last weekend they still found a way to squeak out a close victory over Kildonan East. Apparently you cannot spell winners without spelling Massey.
This should be a great match up with both teams featuring stellar quarterbacks, lock down defenders and receivers that can light up a scoreboard. My prediction: Game of the night on Friday. Don't miss it!
