The PIT Football league in partnership with the Winnipeg High School Football League and Football Manitoba are currently offering a U20 Flag Football division with the winners representing Manitoba in the National Tournament in Halifax May Long weekend. This unique division deserves its own player of the week award and the PIT Football league has stepped up to highlight some of the great up and coming players in the league.

We are going back retrospectively and offering the award from week #1! Our first week has some great performances but none greater than Grant Park's Amun Mayol who had four sacks, three of which went for safeties. That might be a record in all of PIT Football as I cannot remember three safeties in a game, let alone in our first ever high school game! Amun leads both the High School and U20 divisions in sacks with six through two games. Amun is relentless in his pursuit of the quarterback, not unlike this guy:

The PIT will be providing Amun a PIT Football championship t shirt in a size and color of his choice for his stellar play and dedication to his craft!

Congratulations from the PIT Crew, your t shirt will be provided to you in an upcoming game!

The second week of games saw Liam Casey of the Vincent Massey Trojans score four touchdowns and haul in two interceptions in a dominating performance versus Grant Park. Beyond his single game performance Liam is also currently first in the division in scoring and tied for third in interceptions in the high school league demonstrating he wasn't a one game wonder.

Liam could be chasing down this guy as one of the top WRs in football in pretty short order:

The PIT will be providing Liam with a PIT Football championship t shirt in a size and color of his choice for his stellar play and dedication to his craft!

Congratulations from the PIT Crew, your t shirt will be provided to you in an upcoming game!

In Week Three Jordan Thomas of the St. Johns Tigers threw for four touchdowns in a high scoring affair with the Kildonan East Reivers. Jordan hit three different receivers in the Tigers spread offense set which puts him firmly in second place in the division in touchdown passes thrown, only two off the pace for top spot!

Could Jordan be making an MVP case for himself like this guy???

The PIT will be providing Jordan with a PIT Football championship t shirt in a size and color of his choice for his stellar play and dedication to his craft!

In Week Four Tyrece Viner-Cox of the Kildonan East Reivers put on an MVP performance scoring two touchdowns, a two-point convert and intercepting a pass against the Trojans. Vincent Massey got up early but there was no quit from the Reivers who had a furious comeback fall just short…if only Tyrece had a few more minutes in this one…especially considering his in both the top then in points and interceptions.

Could Tyrece break records like clockwork, not unlike this guy???

In Week Five Grant Park Pirate Wyatt Barber put on a clinic by scoring a touchdown, throwing for another and picking off the St. Johns Tigers quarterback in a back and forth affair between two evenly matched teams. Wyatt is currently in the top ten in both touchdown passes and interceptions making him a double threat on out the field for the Pirates.

How important is Wyatt to his team? Probably as important as this guy:

The PIT will be providing Wyatt with a PIT Football championship t shirt in a size and color of his choice for his stellar play and dedication to his craft!

In Week six Nick Rowe of Finish First Football scored a touchdown and had an interception against Channel Four News. The stats put Nick at the top of his team for both scoring and interceptions and the top ten in both statistical categories in the division.

Nick must be learning something!

In our final week of the regular season the St. Johns Tiger played the Vincent Massey Trojans for the divisional regular season crown. While the game didn’t go the Tiger’s way Matthew H. had a convert and a touchdown for the Tigers as well as a few other big grabs to end his regular season in style.

Maybe 18 years from now Matthew will have finished his career with numbers like this:

The PIT will be providing Matthew with a PIT Football championship t shirt in a size and color of his choice for his stellar play and dedication to his craft!

Congratulations from the PIT Crew, your t shirt will be provided to you in an upcoming game!
