For the sixth year running the PIT Crew would like to award all of those unsung heroes who chase around their teammates for registration money, ensure players get to the field, work around the schedules of others, deal with the day-to-day drama, and generally go gray with the joys of organizing recreational touch football. Without the captains of each of our member teams the PIT would not exist. Team captains might not lead their respective divisions in points, TD passes, interceptions, or sacks, but they are the true all-stars, and should be acknowledged as such.

What better way to do so then to invite all of our outdoor team captains to our 6th annual captains all-star game? We are continuing the tradition by holding the all-star game at Adrenaline Adventures...with beers and food to follow at the Water's Edge Clubhouse on site courtesy of the PIT! This year the game will be played on Saturday August 22nd at 4:30pm with all star events (fastest man, longest throw, etc going both prior to the game and during half time). Due to the huge growth in the league there will be two all-star games held simultaneously, a first in PIT history!

All team captains in attendance will receive all-star t-shirts courtesy of Harv-al and be eligible to win some great swag from our sponsors. Team captains must register for the all-star game by Tuesday August 18th to be eligible for the game. To register, team captains should email Jon or reply to this post. All team captains who are registered will have their names placed on the homepage with the four all-star teams created from that list. More info on prizes and itinerary to come.

The All Star teams can now be found at the top of the standings page. Teams will be made on Tuesday August 18th, the deadline for registering for the all-star game. Team captains may designate another player on their team to play if they cannot attend, anyone in the PIT can come out for the all-star events and win some great swag from our participating sponsors. A complete list of event times will be up shortly but the two games will take place at 4:30pm with drinks to follow at the club house after the games.

A reminder that the deadline to RSVP to the all-star game is this coming Tuesday August 18th. All team captains are invited however teams may send a representative if the team captain is unavailable. Currently the following sponsors are offering some awesome swag to our participants:

Events start at 4:00pm sharp, with the game at 5:00pm.

All participants are also reminded to bring some canned protein (peanut butter, lentils, canned tuna etc) to help feed the less fortunate!

The 2015 Team Captain All-Star game took place the day prior to the championship finals at Optimist Park. Team Black defeated Team Grey 29-25 and also won beer drinking competition to clean sweep the day. Kory Stagg took home MVP honors for the champions throwing for three touchdowns while also scoring both a touchdown and a convert. Damian Bialkowski was the MVP for the losing squad with a huge two-way game. Damian also threw for three touchdown passes and hauled in two interceptions for the defense.

Each member of the all-star game received some great swag from Harval-Sportswear, the PINT and Boston Pizza. MVPs also took home gift certificates for Amici and Barley Bros. Everyone was also treated for drinks and food afterwards - only in the PIT!

Congratulations to the following winners in our annual summer all-star game:

MVP Team Black: Kory Stagg

PIT Fastest Man: Keith Bourgeois
QB Challenge Winner: Jon Franklin
Longest Throw: Keith Bourgeois
Field Goal Kicking Competition: Damian Bialkowski

Keith Bourgeois becomes the first ever PIT player to defend their fastest man title as winner in both 2014 and 2015. Keith also took home the longest throw with a chuck of nearly 60 yards. Keith would have become the first player to also win three different titles if he hadn't decided to arbitrarily kick the football from about 15 farther than Damian just to give someone else a chance at victory! Yep the competitions were about Keith this year. Next year someone is going to have to knock this guy off the podium before he takes home all of the all-star swag.

Thanks again to all the players who participated in this year's team captain all-star game. The next one will take place in February for all of the team captains in the Winter season. Just our way of saying thanks to the team captains who more often than not have a thankless job.
