Boston Pizza has once again returned to offer great team specials and player of the week awards to our membership. Each week during the Summer Boston Pizza will provide a player of the week award for a personal pizza to the player who both has excelled at the game and wants to give cooking the finger!
The Week 1 Boston Pizza Player of the Week award winner is Michael Glover of Running Riot. Michael came out of the gates hot scoring a touchdown and hauling in three interceptions in Running Riot's first game of the season. Michael currently leads division 6 in interceptions and has started a record breaking pace if he can keep it up.
When you believe something sign your name to it, and Michael's name is currently topping the INT list.

Tying up some loose ends from May and that means the second Boston Pizza POW award needs to be handed out! In Week 2 Jordan Jones of Maclin on Your Girl had two interceptions and two touchdowns in Maclins season opener. Jordan is making himself an early MVP candidate having currently placed in the top 10 in Division 9 in three different categories (sacks, points, and interceptions)!
Thus far this Summer season Jordan can be likened to an unstoppable buffet of stats!

The Boston Pizza Week #3 player of the week award goes to Patrick Thibert of the Dirty Vikings who registered five sacks in victory over the Free Agents. Through just four games Patrick has rung up 11 QB kills and currently sits in second place in sacks in Division 10.
Patrick can definitely whole ass sacking the quarterback!

Time to hand out some more free pizzas! The Week #4 Player of the Week goes to Shae Weeks who in consecutive games in early June dropped 42 points on the MegaPowers and Mapetown. Against the MegaPowers Shae had an interception and 18 points and the next day put up 24 points vs Mapetown. Despite just playing in those two games thus far this season, Shae is currently in fourth place in scoring in 4. Obviously his 21 PPG is leading the league.
Apparently Shae knows more than the rest of us!

Who likes pizza? Hoan Mac better like pizza as he has delivered the latest Boston Pizza POW award.
The Barracudas and Slobberknockers had back-to-back games with both teams going 1-1. After losing the first one, Hoan led his team back in style throwing for four touchdowns and adding a single point in victory and in total dropped a stat line of 6 touchdowns, 1 sack and a single point in those two games. Hoan demonstrated to his teammates that his is capable of withstanding a tremendous amount of adversity...not unlike Ron Swanson.

Nick Pagano is the latest Boston Pizza player of the week having scored 2 points and adding 4 sacks in leading the Boozers to victory over Maclin on Your Girl. Nick is always near the top of his division in sacks and this year is no different as he is currently placed in the top 10 in division 9. The Boozers currently have three different players on their team in the 10 ten in sacks and if that holds up for the duration of the season it would be the first time in PIT history that has happened!
Perhaps with that kind of sack-i-tude it might even help change Ron Swanson's mind about Canada

Anthony Chase becomes the newest recipient of the Boston Pizza POW after helping lead the Barley Bros to two straight victories to end the month of June and put the team just 2 points out of a four way tie for first place in division 8. Div 8 has quickly become one of the most difficult divisions with five teams separated by those two point. In the victories Mr. Chase racked up two touchdowns and an interception. Honorable mention to Lionel Gauthier who threw for 8 TDs during the two game stretch.
Hopefully Anthony minimally loves pizza and football.

John Jonker from Blast from the Past is the first July recipient of the Boston Pizza POW award after racking up a very impressive 30 points, two touchdown passes and an interception as he "Blasted" poor Uncle Rico's Football Academy. John is putting up "Max Jenson" type numbers as he is currently 2nd in Division 11 in touchdown passes and third in points! Even Ron Swanson couldn't hate that stat line!

For the second Boston Pizza Player of the Week in July we have the second straight award winner from Division 10. Ryan Knutson of Hulkamania had 25 points and two interceptions in what was a busy week for Hulkamania. During the second week of July the Hulksters played three games and went 3-0 during that timespan shooting them up to second place in the division. Ryan is currently 4th in the division in picks and is just one point outside of the top 10 in that category. Ron Swanson would have so many emotions.

Ivan Gibson is the newest Boston Pizza player of the week award recipient after scoring 12 points and hauling in an interception during the course of two games in mid-July. The Clip Clops had a bit of a rough start to the season but they are one of the winningest franchises in the PIT over the last couple of years so teams should watch out for them come playoffs! We know Ivan will be ready as defenses are not usually effective against a Gibson.

The final Boston Pizza Player of the Week for July is Neil Einarson of Necessary Roughness who threw for three touchdowns, ran in another and had a sack in a close 33-27 defeat at the hands of the Goodfellas. Parity reigns in Division 7 as only six points separate first from sixth in the division. Neil has kept is 6-6 Necessary Roughness team in the thick of things with 24 touchdown passes and 33 points on the season.

The first Boston Pizza Player of the week in the month of August is Sean Godard of Mediocre White Hype who threw for four touchdowns in a 25-7 victory over top-seeded Law Firm. Mediocre started the season slow but is currently on a three game winning streak, in part due to Sean's eight touchdowns during that time, pulling them into a three-way tie for fourth place in the division.
Hopefully Ron won't have to react to another streak coming to an end!

Our next Boston Pizza Player of the week for the month of August is Jason Camphuis of Blitzkrieg who threw for two touchdowns and scored 20 points in victory over Sports. The win kept Blitzkrieg undefeated on the season at 7-0 in the flag division and his stats in that game moved Jason into the top ten in scoring as well as 1st in touchdown passes. Quite the double threat from the QB position!
Flag football is definitely a man's game!

The reigning Boston Pizza Player of the week is Old Skool's Josh Hazelhurst who threw for three touchdowns, scored a convert and hauled in an interception on Old Skool's victory over the free agents. The win evened Old Skool's record at 8-8 and Josh into the top five in division 11 in both touchdown passes and interceptions! Josh is having a great season and it looks like Old Skool is starting to peak at the right time having won three of their last four games.
These guys are definitely Old Skool in their values!

In the same game as our PINT award winner for this week we find our Boston Pizza player of the week in David Noorden who scored three touchdowns and hauled in an interception then followed that up with another 7 points three days later. Dave finished fourth in scoring in Division 11 and did so in only 13 games! Dave take your lady out to Boston Pizza and rub it in while you can!

The final Boston Pizza player of the week of the summer season goes to Matthew Loffendale of Gym Class Heroes who had an interception, six points and two touchdown passes in victory over the Dirty Vikings. Matthew is quite deserving of the POW due in part to his top ten finish in each of Touchdown Passes (6th), points (4th), and interceptions (tied for 5th) in division 10. Matthew even through in one sack so he could have a stat in every category! A fine finish to a fine season Matthew!
