Barley Brothers is back to sponsor the Saturday Night player of the week award for the duration of the Winter season. Barley Brothers will offer $25 gift certificates to players who demonstrate how well they are at their craft! Here is a bit of info on Barley Brothers:

Barley Brothers is a locally owned and Craft Beer Pub with 72 Craft Beer taps. The taps are constantly changing, as we look for cool different beers. Our food is a mix of Canadiana and German Beer Hall. We have things like Burgers, Steaks, Schnitzels, Perogies, Wings, House made Sausages, and lots of other options. We have daily drink and food specials. With 20 TVs, it doesn't matter where you sit, you have a good line of sight for the games. Teams/players can make a reservation after their games. Please let Barley Bros know that you are part of the PIT so they can make your experience that much better!

The first Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week is Dallas Jacobucci of North Bay who led his team to victory in their inaugural game in the PIT! Dallas caught two touchdown passes, had and interception, and had two sacks, staking himself to an early divisional lead.

Hopefully North Bay's season is an entertaining as the first season of this all-time show of awesomeness.

There were many players who deftly demonstrated their "craft" Saturday night and were worth of the second Barley Bros POW of the week award. Included in the running for the POW award this week were Kevin Robson who led the Untouchables to victory, Neil Gwizon who was the drunkest Kraken and still managed two picks and five TD passes, Brandon Labonte of Meat's Pizzeria with 8 sacks and multiple safeties, Nelson Jenson of the Pelicans who almost matched Brandon with 8 sacks and one safety, and Griffen Bernstein with 8 points, four sacks, one interception and one TD pass. The winner however goes to Braxton McIntosh of the Men who scored four touchdowns and took an early lead in the divisional scoring race. Facing off against a stout Filthy Few team the Men held their own, a great accomplishment considering the Men are only in their second season and already playing in Division 6! This is definitely a team to watch...not unlike this classic episode of MTM.

Week #3 is in the books and that means that Barley Brothers wants to ply a player of the week with a plethora (see what I did there Cam?) of "Craft" beers.

The third Barley Bros POW award goes to Kathryn Huebner of the Flying Squirrels who scored 6 points and had two interceptions in helping the Squirrels to their first victory of the season versus newcomers Turn Down for Watt. Kathryn is currently second in the coed division in interceptions and participated in the record breaking 44 points scored on the day by the ladies on the Squirrels. Honorable mention goes to Lauren Bachand who scored 24 points for the Squirrels and Courtney Shepell who poured in 13 more. The challenge is now out to other coed teams to see if they can get their ladies to rack up those kind of stats (By way of comparison the guys on the team only combined for 8 points)!

Mike Tyson doesn't know anything about flying a rocket...of course he doesn't have the ladies of the Flying Squirrels to help him out.

Damn those parking lot beers result in some late nights...good times...Cam Penner, McKernan wants pics!

Week #4 has wrapped up and Matthew Lofendale of Gym Class Heroes is the newest Barley Brothers "Craft" player of the week award winner.

Matthew currently sits first in both points and interceptions in division 19, in no small part due to his 30 point, 2 interception game on Saturday as the Gym Class Heroes took out the Nexx Generation. Matthew is a game changer, not unlike this invention:

Damn those parking lot beers continue to be a bane on my existence...good times...thanks Cam!

Week #5 was a tough call for player of the week as Garrison Trinder and Eric Vincent had tremendous outings. Garrison Trinder led Peg City Misfits to victory with 4 sacks and 5 TD passes and after being a late addition to the Flying Squirrels roster he poured in another 18 points, including the game winner in a huge upset victory. On the other hand Eric went 2-1 on the night, scoring 57 points and hauling in two interceptions for The Squad, Reebok Choy and Maclin on Your Girl. In the end the nod this night goes to Eric Vincent and his nearly 20 point per game average (plus unlike Garrison he is over the age of 18 so can take full advantage of being the Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week).

Congrats to Eric who enacted the best fatality of the night by helping down both Rebel Scum and Viscous and Delicious.

Week #6 was a long weekend and was not short on great games and great performances. This past Saturday Justin Patson of the Lakeview Spartans had a safety and three sacks to extend his division 16 lead in qb kills after two games. While Lakeview hasn't had the best start to the 2015 season, these newcomers to the game will come around once they get some experience under their belts.

Football seasons have ebbs and flows, hopefully Lakeviews season trends upwards unlike Mike Tyson's day. And if it doesn't Justin can drown is sorrows away at Barley Bros.

And that D is how your write a player of the week award!

The season is now past the mid-way point and we are crowing the 7th Barley Brothers "Craft" Player of the Week award. The reigning champ this week is Kyle Ross of the Softies who had two interceptions in a narrow defeat at the hands on the Night Knights. The Softies are new to the league and feeling their way around division 17, although they have yet to score this season, the defense has been quite good. With the two interceptions Kyle has moved into the top ten in picks for Division 17. I am sure once these guys familiarize themselves with the game of touch they will be able to turn their season around.

With just two games left in their season, its fight or flight for the Softies. What would Mike Tyson do?

Week #8 concluded with some "stunning" play that deserves the Barley Brothers "craft" player of the week.

Stuart Lyner of the Stunned Punts had a touchdown, safety, convert, four sacks and a touchdown pass, just missing out on an interception which would have made him the first person to get every conceivable stat in a touch football game. Stuart is currently fifth in division 19 in sacks, third in touchdown passes, and tenth in points making him a bona fied triple threat on the field.

With that performance the Barley Bros award is just a hat on a hat!

Week 9 had a few great performances but none better than Kyle Manary's performance for Turn Down for Watt.

Kyle earned the newest Barley Bros "Craft" player of the week award after throwing for three touchdowns, pulling down an interception, scoring two points and sacking the opposing quarterback two more times! This performance not only earned Kyle the POW award but also the first victory of the season for Turn Down for Watt.

Even Mike Tyson has to be in awe of Kyle's performance...most of which was captured here:

The league hits week 10 with some great games and performances. A lot to choose from for this weeks Barley Brothers "Craft" player of the week award.

Nick Jessamine takes the award with his four touchdown passes and interception in the Kings defeat of Mayhem. Nick is currently second in Division 13 in TD passes while also chipping in double digit points from the pivot position. Nick also make the PIT Crew's lives miserable by moving the Kings into a three-way tie for third place in the division with 5 teams now within two points of first place. Div 13 might be the most competitive division in the league with all playoff positions up in the air going into the final game of the season. Sorting out all the tie-breaker scenarios won't be fun!

Nick has taken his place among the Kings!

A week before playoffs and Devano Cascegna of the Young Guns was making the PIT his house, taking down the Barley Bros "Craft" Player of the Week award.

Needing a victory to stay in the playoff hunt and Devano stepped up his game scoring 2 touchdowns, hauling in 2 interceptions, and throwing for 2 touchdowns in the Young Guns victory over the Softies. Devano is currently tied for 5th in Division 17 in interceptions and tied for 4th in touchdown passes. The entire season comes down to this weekend and the PIT Crew is sure Devano will be up for the challenge once again.

With his 2-2-2 moves on the weekend, Devano checkmated the Softies...just don't tell Mike Tyson you are a football grandmaster.
