Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza to enjoy at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. The Winter season kicked off January 9th with a full slate of games. Everyone in the complex was pretty excited to battle for the elusive PIT championship "Stanley cup engraved style" Trophies. Friday had the "Number" teams play in a Division 20 bout! 3rd and Schlong took on 1 in the Pocket and 2 in the Endzone with the 3rd and Schlong team taking the regular season victory, with Jordan Mirwaldt throwing 5 TD Passes, and running in another major for a very convincing 37-7 victory earning the Player of the Night award.
Although the 3rd and Schlong starts the Winter season strong. The PIT crew predicts this in our visual interpretation of the Division 20 Final!
Congrats to Jordan from the PIT!
Your POW award will be available during the captains meeting the next time you play.

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza to enjoy at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week two had many new teams playing their first game in the PIT, like the Stop Beating your Peter Son and Sh*thawks squads competing within our Division 18. The Stop Beating your Peter Son bested the Sh*thawks by a score of 24-21 with Cole Brydges taking home the POW with an impressive 2 interceptions and 18 points.
Pretty much this is how the whole squad of Stop Beating Your Peter Son felt after winning their first game in the PIT.
Congrats to Cole from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week three had some awesome games and I was fortunate enough have a front row seat for three of them while training our newest head referee Joey Fryza (Congrats)! Firstly, an honourable mention goes out to Tyler Haluik who had a tremendous game for the Goodfellas squad in their overtime victory over the Venum crew. The final score was 20-19 in overtime with Tyler having two touchdown passes, a running TD, the overtime winning throw for a single and about 100 running yards during the game. Great Job! Edging Tyler was Greg Enns from the Strange Brew Division 12 squad, with a convert point, a blocked punt, 4 sacks and 4 knockdowns during the rush! A friend of the PIT said it may have been the strongest rush performance in recent PIT history, and thus earning Greg the Friday POW award.
Clearly a fantastic 4 performance deserves this PIT tribute.
Congrats to Greg from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week four has come and gone with some very entertaining games played within the PIT. Cody Hunter of Kiss the Baby takes this week's award for his performance vs Stop beating your Peter Son with his 3 major scores and an interception. The final tally was Kiss the Baby 37-31 over the Peter Son squad.
The PIT crew chronicles Stop Beating your Peter Son's revenge plan in this little short.
Congrats to Cody from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 5 is in the books with the spoils going to Jordan Penner of Bert Stare 4.0 fame! Bert Stare 4.0 defeated #D1 Bound by a score of 27-20 and largely on the back of Jordan with his 3 major scores and 6 sacks! Jordan leads Division 8 in sacks with a total of 7.
Jordan certainly has nothing to complain about during this performance, nor did he get hit in the nose by Peter!
Congrats to Jordan from the PIT!

A huge thanks to Damian for posting last week while I was in Cuba. You are Awesome D!
Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 7 had some amazing play by some of the ladies with many of the Coed teams playing on Friday night, and none having a better outing than Rose Brownridge and Sonya Panchuck of the the Road Rockets 1.0. Rose & Sonya had two major scores a piece, with one of each of their scores being a pick 6! With a little icing on the cake, Rose & Sonya did something that not many touch football players have on their resume, which was a pick six of Tim Shae which has been a top Elite quarterback over the last 30 years! The Road Rockets were victorious over the Assassin Legends by a score of 54-36. Rose and Sonya share top spot in the week 7 POW spotlight!
The PIT camera crew rarely misses a thing, and they were in fine form last Friday!
Sonya...
Rose...
Congrats to Rose & Sonya from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 8 is in the books. Week 8 had some amazing performances so the honourable mentions go out to Ryan Froud from Gym Class Heroes with 8 sacks vs the Trojan squad. Cole Brydges (previous POW winner) with 36 points and Brennan Davis with 8 td passes, both from the Stop Beating Your Peter Son. The eventual winner who had a multi-stat night was Joel Mccrimmon who had 6 points 2 interceptions and 3 touchdown passes which gave the Dilligaf's their 2nd victory of the season and now puts them in playoff contention.
Although the She Unit team may distract some male football players, Joel stayed the course and has a POW type night. Here are a few cases where the fans may have altered the way some performed, good or bad...
Congrats to Joel from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 9 has been completed with most teams hitting the 3 and 4 game mark. March 6 had the Spanish Channel News squad take on the Lakeview Spartans in a Division 16 battle. The Lakeview boys were bested by the Spanish Channel News by a score of 30-6 largely by the "Big Game" of Karmvir Bath who had 7 sacks which 2 were safeties and a total of 10 points. Karmvir was clearly the difference with his "Big Game" which earned him the POW and a much needed victory to improve The Spanish Channel News Team to 2-2 with one game remaining. The squad will need another "Big Game" to secure a playoff birth.
Here is the PIT Crew's Surrealism interpretation of Karmvir's performance.
Congrats to Karmvir from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 10 is now just a memory with some awesome games being played on Friday. The Friday POW typically goes to a standout player who helps their team become victorious during the game, but in some cases the player does everything they can, but still the team falls a little short. Ryyan Koleric of the Bo$$ squad had all the statistics for his team other than the TD passes which came via the arm of Dwayne Mohammed. Ryyan tallied all 18 points and 2 interceptions in the losing cause despite Ryyan's POW performance. The Bo$$ Squad fell to the Hammond Pros (Masters) by a score of 26-18. The good news is the Bo$$ squad has qualified for playoffs despite the loss. I assume only a beer and a video similar to this would be the only thing to calm Ryyan's nerves after the game...
A few of every man's favorite things!
Congrats to Ryyan from the PIT!

Boston Pizza is back sponsoring the PIT League during the 2015 Winter season. Each recipient will receive a personal pizza at any of Winnipeg's Boston Pizza locations. Week 11 is just a faint memory except for the POW performance of Ryan Budhoo of the Iced Earth squad. Ryan had an awesome game bringing in 4 touchdown during the Iced Earth vs Dream Team game. Ryan's Iced Earth squad edged out Dream Team by a score of 33- 25. Ryan has some smooth hands for sure, as he out Jumped one of my 3 favorite people of all time " The Draper" ( very few people know my other two...) for an awesome touchdown.
Some of Ryan's catches from last Friday.
Congrats to Ryan from the PIT!
