Thought I'd share my experience with a sports keepsake website in case it interests any other PIT teams. I had been thinking about doing up some sort of commemorative item for our team's Div 8 Summer title this year and came across the website makeaball.com. They allow you to design a customized sports balls with pictures and text on one or two of the ball panels, which they then print up, assemble, and ship to you.
I wasn't sure what the quality would be like, but I was impressed with the result in the end. See links for pictures (though my crappy photos don't do justice to the quality of the print job which is photograph quality). They have a design tool that runs in your browser on the site, but I actually did everything up in photoshop first since that gives you more freedom to design it as you like and then just uploaded it in the design tool as a single picture that covers the whole ball panel.
Cost was $55, which I thought was pretty reasonable... though I didn't find out the shipping cost from Baltimore, MD until checkout, which sucked me in for another $35 (plus the current lousy exchange rate). There may be cheaper shipping options but I didn't investigate them. There also may be other sites out there that do something similar, but I didn't poke around too much.
Anyway, I'm not affiliated with makeaball.com or getting a kick-back in anyway. Just thought others may be interested in having a look in case they happen to be a sentimental old geek like me.
And I'm hoping the PIT doesn't sue me for logo copyright infringement.
