Barley Brothers is back to sponsor the Saturday Night player of the week award for the duration of the Fall season. Barley Brothers will offer $25 gift certificates to players who demonstrate how well they are at their craft! Here is a bit of info on Barley Brothers:

Barley Brothers is a locally owned and Craft Beer Pub with 72 Craft Beer taps. The taps are constantly changing, as we look for cool different beers. Our food is a mix of Canadiana and German Beer Hall. We have things like Burgers, Steaks, Schnitzels, Perogies, Wings, House made Sausages, and lots of other options. We have daily drink and food specials. With 20 TVs, it doesn't matter where you sit, you have a good line of sight for the games. Teams/players can make a reservation after their games. Please let Barley Bros know that you are part of the PIT so they can make your experience that much better!

Our first Barley Brothers player of the week goes to Krisjan Hepples of Bert Stare 3.0 who scored five touchdowns, had a sack, and added two interceptions in a remarkable performance as he broke in the new field turf at the Indoor Complex Saturday night. What no touchdown passes? Not sure if anyone can top that performance this season and we are just in week 1!

Teams will have a tough time marching down Sesame Street to quarantine Krisjan.

Barley Brothers is back to give away the Week 2 POW award. Barley Brothers will offer $25 gift certificates to players who demonstrate how well they are at their craft!

Warren Villarba of the Truffle Shuffles scored 25 points and added a sack for good measure to help the Truffle Shuffles to a 26-25 victory over Kiss the Baby. What Warren, you couldn't score all 26 points??? The Truffle Shuffles are off to a 2-0 start to the season and have a combined plus/minus of +2, winning both of their games by just a single point (talk about parity). Warren managed to score the winning touchdown on a hail mary at the end of regulation to put his squad of Goonies in the lead for good.

Here is Warren topping off his winning touchdown with his epic dance moves.

Hey you guys!!!!

Matthew Groot of the Dilligafs is the Barley Brothers Week 3 POW award winner. Barley Brothers will be providing Matthew a $25 gift certificate for his dedication to his rushing craft!

Matthew had a remarkable 7 sacks last Saturday in the Dilligafs game versus the Incredible Bulk. Although the Dilligafs were on the wrong side of a 22-6 score, Matthew did his best to keep the game low scoring and the Bulk QB in check. The first year team is now 1-1 in Division 17 and Matthew has jumped out to the Division lead in sacks with 10.

But if you ask Matthew about his accomplishments I am sure he would just say Dilligaf.

The Week 4...err 5 (where did poor Arvi Singh of Patalia Island go?!?!) Barley Brothers "craft" player of the week award goes to Kyle Hosein of Vicious and Delicious who had a coed record six interceptions in their game versus the Assassin Legends on Saturday night. The first year team has yet to hit the W column but has definitely shown a lot of fight in their first two games, losing the first game by four points and then playing some stalwart defense in the second. It is only a matter of time before this team hits its stride.

And if Kyle keeps up his mad interception pace, he might get his own book and youtube video "How to Hosein".

The Week Six Barley Brothers Player of the Week Award goes to Brian Johnstone of the Honey Badgers who scored a touchdown, multiple converts, a safety and had four sacks in the Honey Badgers close loss to the The Men. After that effort Brian is just one off the division 7 lead in sacks and put the league on notice that he is one of the up and coming players in the league.

Brian should practice his one-liners for when he is twelve beers deep at Barley Brothers explaining to the ladies how awesome he is at touch football.

After a bunch of crowns and some beers in the parking lot week 7 came to a close and its time to award the newest Barley Brothers "Craft" player of the week award. This week Jeff Okarinec of SDSCrew poured in three touchdowns and reigned in an interception to put his team back in contention for a playoff spot. The Crew move back to .500 and Screw down the 4th spot after their victory over the free agents Saturday night.

Jeff now resides in third spot in the overall points standings in Division 14 and is currently courting Sterling Archer to put the Screw in SDSCrew for the Winter season which opens for business on Monday.

As we approach the end of the regular season the Barley Brothers "Craft" player of the week takes on more significance as teams either battle for playoff positioning or play spoilers. In week eight Joshua Kleinsasser played the latter role.

Joshua hung eighteen points and three interceptions on the Kekambas. Not only did Joshua provide the Juggernaut Express their first win of the season but they also put a dent in the Kekambas playoff hopes. The Kekambas had their playoff destiny in their hands but Joshua almost single-handedly snatched that away.

Joshua moved into ninth place in division 12 scoring and second place in the divisional interception race. While the Juggernaut Express won't make the playoffs in the fall they have more hope come winter than this team does!

Last Saturday was the last Saturday to crown a Barley Brother's "Craft" player of the week award. So our final recipient of the Fall 2014 season goes to Austin Eliuk of Instinct who kept his team in a three-way tie for first place in Division 16 after a 13 point, 4 interception performance in victory over Kick Butkus.

Austin currently leads Division 16 in picks and is second in scoring. Despite his all-star season the division will still come down to Friday's games to determine seeding. Ideally Austin's seed isn't being frozen without his knowledge.

For Archer fans, hit up the show's writers first series Frisky Dingo!
