Messages for Sunday Aug 24th

Comment Posted by Scott Aug 24, 2014 12:59 AM

The first two game slots of Sunday August 24th will be cancelled (9AM and 10:45AM). The rain is still coming down presently and the fields will need time to dry if in fact the sun does come out in the morning. Please check the website before making your plans for the day.

Thanks,
Scott

The radar imagery is making me believe there will be a system coming through Winnipeg in the next 20 minutes. I'll take a drive to River Elm to see if there is standing water. If anyone is up and wants to drop by John Forsythe and Sansmoe to check for standing water, it would be appreciated. You could call me at 229-6266

thanks,
Scott

Raining pretty steady now in the southend, not too far from Forsythe so doesn't look good.

Yeah, the Maze mentioned the water on the streets too.

The 12:30 PM and 2:15 PM games have been officially cancelled for Sunday August 24th. The fate of the last two games of the day will be determined around 2:30 PM. With 2014 being the year of the rainout, the PIT crew is very concerned as there are 2 remaining rain out slots for the 12! games that have already been canceled today. Are there any Actuary PIT players out there who could help solve this mathematical dilemma?

To make this clear, do we need to cancel either 6 or 28 games today?

"Are there any Actuary PIT players out there who could help solve this mathematical dilemma?"

Solution 1:

Schedule those games indoors at the indoor complex and play at night? Have teams pay up for the comfort.

Soltuion 2:

14 vs 14!

2 Rushers
2 Quarterback

Double the fun!

Clarification:

An actuary is a business professional who deals with the financial impact of risk and uncertainty. Actuaries provide assessments of financial security systems, with a focus on their complexity, their mathematics, and their mechanisms (Trowbridge 1989, p. 7). The name of the corresponding profession is actuarial science.

An aviary is a large enclosure for confining birds. Unlike cages, aviaries allow birds a larger living space where they can fly; hence, aviaries are also sometimes known as flight cages. Aviaries often contain plants and shrubbery to simulate a natural environment.

I must say, Scott is quite wise in his choice of words. Unique throwing motion and scholarly. Deadly combination...

Solution 3:
With indoor hourly full field rental being close to $800, I'm thinking playing in the isles of Walmart might be more likely!

The good news is it won't rain for at least a few more hours so maybe the fields will be ok for the 4:00 PM, and 5:45 PM games. Plan for the games to be played.

Clarification: Terrible throwing motion!

Hasn't rained in the south here for an hour or so, the sun even peeped out for a time or two

Hmmmmmm, maybe we should play in an aviary.......don't they have one in Assiniboine park? Hmmmm.....

The games are a go for the 4:00 PM, and the 5:45 PM for Sunday August 24th.

thanks,
Scott
