A record number of teams and players led to some great parity and playoffs games in the Fall. Here is a brief writeup of each of our championship games:

Elite: Guild of Calamitous Intent defeat The Alliance 44-43
The best elite final in PIT History? Yes, yes, and yes. This game was back-and-forth with both Jesse Clarke of The Alliance and Jon Franklin of the Guild throwing for seven touchdowns as neither defense had an answer for the offensive onslaught these teams brought. The game came down to converts with the Guild having the 1 point advantage in large part to acrobatic catches by Mark “Ridd-iculous” Ridd and Chad “Asian Deion” Okumura. These two teams were so evenly matched that when you add in the Alliance’s 40-39 regular season victory the two teams ended up with a 1-1 record against each other with a deadlocked 83-83 score in those two games. The Guild continue their assault on the PIT history book earning their record 12th championship trophy and 1st in the Elite division.

Division 2: U Can’t Touch This defeat Anachronism 45-26
Jesse Clarke throws another seven touchdowns in a championship game five to game MVP Lloyd Dueck, while on defense Pierre Feng pestered Anachronsim QB Scott McArthur all night knocking down several key passes. UCCT got off to a quick start offensively and made three key red zone stops in the first half to build a big half-time lead in which they did not look back from. UCCT will add to the largest continent of div 1 teams the PIT has had indoor for the Winter.

Division 3: Brewers defeat Gwizicanes 38-19
Worst to first for the Brewers who finished the season 0-5 but 2-0 when it counted in the playoffs! Two pick sixes to end the game blew open what was a tied game for the vast majority of this tilt between two very evenly matched teams. Team captain Nolan “Nolby Calet” Colby scored 19 points and had a pick six in games versus YCCT and Gwizicanes as the Brewers ran the division 3 gauntlet on the Friday night. Nolan did it all this game just don’t ask him to get himself home safely after drinking in the complex parking lot.

Division 4: Krakatoa defeat Levels 20-9
QB Neil Gwizon didn’t get his championship in Division 3 but rebounded later in the night to win Division 4. Gwizon hit Derrick Shore for three touchdown passes and the Krakatoa D erupted for three interceptions and two sacks to keep the Levels offense in check. The Levels were down Chris “Get me an Xbox1” Krupa for the game as he took his skills to Toys R Us for the evening to mow down Christmas shoppers during the busiest shopping night of the season. Here is Kroops in action:

Division 5: Da Beers defeat Filthy Few 24-23 (overtime)
4th place finishers Da Beers demonstrate that parity reigns in the PIT and once you are in the playoffs it’s a whole new ball game. This back-and-forth game included everything from crazy one-handed hail Mary interceptions to a record breaking 18 convert attempt overtime that set the whole evening back on Field #2 by 30 minutes. A well-earned victory for Da Beers who survived a game for the ages!

Division 6: Team RVC defeat Chivas Rebels 26-13
Newcomers Team RVC showed off their speed and skill as they take the division on the back of three touchdown passes from Brett “Don’t call me Bob” Cameron and the 19 points from David Anderson. Mr. “I am the one” Anderson plugged into the matrix for two touchdown receptions and a 50 yard interception return touchdown which put the game out of reach from the “I have drank too much Chivas” Rebels.

Division 7: Nomads defeat Butterfingers 18-12
The Nomads seasonal script never seems to change. Non-descript regular season, sneak into the playoffs, bear down and win championships. Glen “7-time champion” Dyck “quarterbacked the Nomads to victory throwing two TD passes to game MVP Shane Smedvik. Shane would not be denied his first ever PIT championship as he took a 59 yard interception (the longest possible in indoor football!) back on the last play of the first half which included a couple of sick moves that put the Nomads up to stay.

Division 8: U.S.O. defeat Assassins Legends 25-19
Tyler Haliuk gets his first PIT championship as a QB felling former elite QB Tim Shea in the process. Tyler threw four touchdown passes, two to his uncle Ziggy whereas Richard Sylvester countered with two of his own touchdown receptions for the Legends. Props to U.S.O for helping with a game change so that the Assassins could play their final, football karma is a powerful thing and the U.S.O had that power on their side on this night!

Division 9: Push to Start defeat Dread Zone 27-12
Push to Start had quite a playoff run outscoring their opponents 58-19 in their two playoff games. The offensive onslaught was led by QB Howie Eugenio and the 19 points from Boris Cicak in the championship game. Howie threw for five touchdowns Friday night versus Team Puso and then followed that up with a four touchdown perform ace vs Dread Zone in the final to win the game MVP.

Division 10: The Wiserhood defeat the Ducks 32-15
The Ducks only lost two games all season. Unfortunately for them both were to eventual champions the Wiserhood. The Wiserhood were led by Max Jenson who pulled off a first in the PIT by leading his division in three separate statistical categories. Max led division 10 in both points and interceptions and tied for the division lead in touchdown passes. Simply sublime! Also congrats to PIT Crew member Chris Harwood who lifted the championship trophy for the first time in his 12 year football career! While this is from seasons past the PIT is always game for showing off team made videos and pics:

Division 11: All Night Wong defeat Can’t Touch This 24-6
Wong wins! Wong wins! Wins Wong! After more than a dozen attempts All Night Wong finally breaks through to win their first ever PIT championship defeating VG-Unit Friday night and Can’t Touch This Saturday. John Perretta threw four touchdown passes, two each to Bryce McDonald and Cameron Tirschmann, while Marvin Quiambao, Mark Mestrovic, and Mr. McDonald each had an interception to stymie the Can’t Touch This offense.

Division 12: Beerhawks defeat Winter is Coming 31-6
The Beerhawks were another team that went wire to wire this season ending the year with two back to back dominating playoff performances. Chris Godfrey threw for 11 touchdown passes in the ‘hawks two games Saturday night. Rodney “Mckernan won’t throw me the ball on Polk High” Patterson scored 25 points while Jason “early favorite for Masters Div MVP” Cassie added 13 more and a pick.

Division 13: Fresh it Up defeat Great White Hype 33-26
The Hype was able to keep Division leading scorer and future elite star Cam Penner off the score sheet in the final but that didn’t stop Matt “The Gun” Nikkel from throwing four touchdown passes to four different receivers. The hype was led by Al Desaulniers’ four touchdown passes of his own and Nagel Dela Cruz’s 13 points. Much like in boxing though never bet on the next great white hype!

Division 14: Touched by Angels defeat Touchdown My Pants 39-27
In the battle of touches the Angels defeated the Pants in a high scoring affair. The Angels offense was touched by God all season as they racked up score after score from the arm of Garth Irvine and the catches of Niclas Bembenak who also set the division 14 regular season scoring record with 94 points. After finishing the season 7-0 this offense will now test its skills against higher division calibre come Winter!

Division 15: Farting Rainbows defeat Morningwood 37-6
Farting Rainbows went a perfect 5-0 during the regular season and made it 7-0 with back-to-back victories on Saturday night. QB Travers Cummings is quietly inscribing his name on quite a few championship trophies and with good reason. Travers threw 12 TD passes in the Rainbows two games Saturday night and led all QBs in TD passes in Div 15 by quite a margin. If you want to win a championship find Travers at the end of the rainbow!

Division 16: Old Skool defeat TD Twisters 20-13
Old Skool was another team that had to go through two teams on Saturday night to win a championship and they did just that. First they defeated the Implication and then obtained a measure of revenge by defeating outdoor champs the TD Twisters. Old Skool was led by the 6 TD passes of Josh Hazelhurst and 12 points apiece from Jay Hazelhurst and William Smith.

Division 17: Kiss the Baby defeat Gentlemen’s Club 46-33
Another high scoring game as the Babies clubbed the Gentlemen by 13. Jared Foss threw five touchdowns for the Gentlemen but was outdueled by the seven touchdown passes from the arm of Neil Walton. Alex Phillips (Gentlemen), Mathew Enns and Ryan Drul (Babies) each had two touchdowns in the back and forth affair.

Division 18: The Boys defeat Random Heroes 47-14
The Boys went wire to wire in Div 18 in one of the most dominating divisional performances in PIT history. Less than a year after going 0-5 in the bottom division this team set record after record going 5-0. The team was put on probation early and had a player ejected indefinitely for conduct unbecoming of the sport, but settled down the second half of the year in part to the hard work of team captain Brody Wilkins. In the end this team will move up many divisions come Winter but has the skill to handle it. An up and coming team assuming they can continue to handle both victory and defeat with class.

We hope to see everyone back in what is shaping up to be another record breaking winter session!
