As the PIT membership already knows, the PIT playoffs kick off Saturday September 14 and conclude the first weekend of October. The Playoff markers have been placed for Sept 14, and 15 with the additional weeks later tonight.

You can view the markers using this direct link here:

http://www.pitfootball.com/seasons/1088-summer-outdoor-2013/games/playoffs

Remember these are just playoff markers, thus individual games will not be available using the "My Schedule" option.

Best of luck to all competing for PIT Championship glory.

A reminder that teams can view their playoff schedules here: http://www.pitfootball.com/seasons/1088-summer-outdoor-2013/games/playoffs

After this weekend the majority of the divisions will be settled and we will start to put teams in the placeholders that currently exist on the site. Teams are reminded that six games are required to be eligible for playoffs in touch and five games for flag. Once teams have played their last game we will be removing players without the required number of games from the roster so that playoff rosters include only those players which are eligible.

All championship games will be held under the lights are on the artificial turf of East Side Eagles field.

Good luck to all teams in their quest for championship glory.

Don't forget 9 games to qualify for elite/high division players in lower divisions :)

The PIT Crew will start imputing the schedule as the playoff matches are determined.

Division 6:

(1) Cheeseheads vs 8th remaining seed
(2)MudHogs vs 7th remaining seed
(3) Barracudas vs (6) Panthers
(4) 4th Floor vs (5) Sloppy Secondary

(7) Aphids vs (10) The Filthy Few

Both the Aphids and Da Beers finished with 16 points in the regular season, but with Da Beers team having a default, they lose all tiebreakers and fall to the 8th spot!

(2) The Aints vs 7th remaining seed
(3) The Tribe vs (6) Brew Bombers
(4) Running Riot vs (5) Warpigs
The Sinpers and Aints were tied for first, but with the Snipers winning both seasonal games, they take first place. The Tribe and Running Riot had identical records, but with a season split the points differential went to the tribe for 3rd spot. Warpigs and Brew Bombers also split during the regular season but Warpigs take 5th with the points differential in that series.

(7) NFL Dynasty vs (10) Fubar

The TD Twisters and Manchild squads finished with identical records but the default that TD Twisters incurred during the regular season cost them the chance for 5th or higher.

Here is what is going on for the Flag Division through Division 5 with tiebreaker explanations. Note some seeding is yet to be completed and will be updated as the games wrap up.

Flag 1:
Doggs (1) bye
Bearcats (2) bye
Blitzkrieg (3) vs Thundercats (6)
Sports (4) vs Royal Knights (5)
Bearcats win tiebreaker over Blitzkrieg by having a +11 plus/minus in head-to-head games during the season as the teams split the season series. While the website says Blitzkrieg has 22 points to Bearcats 20, Blitzkrieg had one extra game to account for an uneven schedule once Ninjas in Paris defaulted out of the league. As a consequence their last game does not count in the standings and thus they also have 20 points. Sports and Royal Knights also split their season series so when points for and against were counted Sports gets 4th place due to their +4 differential in the two games.

Flag 2:
Vipers (1) vs The Swaffelens (4)
Bro Montanas (2) vs Crimson Tide (3)
Ninjas in Paris have defaulted out of the league so the bottom four remaining teams will face off in the semis.

Elite:
Doggs (1) vs Iced Earth (2)

Division 1:
Walking Dead (1) vs Dream Team (2)

Division 2:
Expendables/The Jeffery/No D/Brewers/Knights can all finish anywhere from 1st to 5th (crazy parity here!!!). No D/Doggs game on Tuesday will decide a lot of tiebreakers (or cause more!)
Polk High (6)
Titans (7)
Top 7 teams of the division go to division 2.

Division 3:
Woodies (1) bye
Rebels (2) vs Short and Curlies (7)
Big Deal (3) vs Bondiddy Bengals (6)
Dead Zone (4) vs New Age (5)
Bottom 7 teams of the division go to division 3. Woodies receive 1st place due to their regular season victory over the Rebels. Dead Zone moves into 4th place as they defeated New Age in their lone head-to-head matchup.

Division 4:
Ballsagna (1) bye
Suspended Indefinitely (2) vs Sleeveless Monstars (7)
Snappers (3) vs Ninja Militia (6)
Remember the Titans (4) vs Southside Trojans (5)
The standings are currently tentative and won’t be updated on the playoff page until the remainder of the games are finished. The division has not played out yet but assuming no defaults in the final games the standings would look like above. Only a default in the remaining games would throw the standings out of whack (so no defaults please!!!)

Division 5:
YMCM Billionaires (1), Eagle 88 (2), U Can’t Touch This (3) Diving Snatch (4/5), Necessary Roughness (4/5), and Rampage (6) bye
Enforcers (7) vs Winebongers (10)
Shiva Blast (8) vs All Droogs (9)
4th and 5th place remain undecided currently in this division.

A reminder that teams in the flag division must have five games played in order to participate in playoffs, six games for touch. Players in divisions Elite through three who play on lower division teams must play nine games for the lower division team to be eligible for playoffs. For example, a div 1 player must have played a minimum of 9 games for any division lower than div 1. So if they are on a div 2 or div 10 team they must have 9 games played to be eligible for playoffs.

We will be going through the rosters and removing players without their correct eligibility requirements from the game cards.

A listing of the most up-to-date playoff schedule can be found here: http://www.pitfootball.com/seasons/1088-summer-outdoor-2013/games/playoffs All playoff games that have been decided for Flag through division 5 have been entered onto the website.

The Division 2 log jam was decided last night, here is the complicated run down:

Expendables (1) bye
The Jeffery (2) vs Titans (7)
Knights (3) vs Polk High (6)
No D (4) vs Brewers (5)

The Jeffery, Knights, No D, and Brewers all tied with identical 12-6 records. When head-to-head was factored in the Jeffery win with a 3-1 record (No D 2-1, Brewers 1-2, Knights 1-3). Once The Jeffery were taken out of the equation, The Knights, No D, and Brewers all had 1-1 records. Points for and against were then used with the Knights winning at +5 (No D +1, Brewers -19). Once the Knights were removed No D defeated the Brewers in their head to head battle to take 4th place.

If we do the tiebreakers differently due to the unequal schedule and throw out the last Jeffery/Knights game (since they played one additional time) we would use +/- to decide who was second and the Jeffery would win that with a +/- of +57.

So both scenarios yield the same result. Crazy parity amongst these teams should lead to a great playoff run in division 2.

As simple as that.......

Division 5 is now settled, here is the rundown:

Division 5:
YMCM Billionaires (1), Eagle 88 (2), U Can’t Touch This (3) Necessary Roughness (4), Diving Snatch (5), and Rampage (6) bye
Enforcers (7) vs Winebongers (10)
Shiva Blast (8) vs All Droogs (9)

Necessary Roughness wins the tiebreaker against Diving Snatch. Diving Snatched defaulted a game this season and as our new #1 tiebreaker any team that defaults automatically loses seed (or in the case of both teams with default the team with more defaults loses seed).

Division 4:

Suspended Indefinitely (2) vs Sleeveless Monstars (7)
Snappers (3) vs Ninja Militia (6)

The first of the Championships took place over the weekend. The Elite title went to Iced Earth 34-20 who held off the Doogs team who took the title in 2012, and The Walking Dead team got by The Dream Team 35-20 in the Division 1 Championship. Does anyone know Nitro's middle name?

Here are the pictures from the game:
