Saturday marked the first ever games at Van Welleghem school. The field is quite lush and other than the areas under the goal posts that have been beaten down by soccer the remainder of the field may boast the best field conditions in the PIT. We hope teams enjoy their games at the PIT's newest field.

If you have never seen the field before here are some pictures: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/590-van-wellegham-school-july-4th-2013

Just like with George McDowell school players should avoid parking in the lot or risk being locked in!

I've been critical of the fields in the past. So I figure I'll give you some props this time as it was a pretty nice field to play at today. The lining has also been exceptional this season to the point that I'm thinking we should work out a deal to get you to line the fields for the Murdoch Mackay Clansmen this coming fall.

Van Welleghem school was relined for the final few weeks of August. Not only did the city cut the field but they also laid down about 20 yards of soil. We convinced them to put a fair amount of soil between the goal posts to help with the only part of the field which isn't in pristine condition. The soil should make the field better now and into the future. For once I can't slag on the city for their lack of work on the fields.

Here are some pictures of the city workers actually working, or lining, and Scott fighting a goose: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/600-van-welleghem-school-august-7th-2013

Van Welleghem was lined for the first time this season with games going there tonight as Paddington Park was flooded. Here are some pics of the field which is looking very good after all of the rain: http://www.pitfootball.com/albums/678-van-welleghem-july-2014

Pros: The rain has made the field very lush
Cons: The rain has made the field a mosquito breeding ground. Bring repellent of face their wrath!

Van Welleghem received its second lining of the season this past week as its second tour of duty begins. Here is some video of hte PIT Crew painting the field...three days per field, your PIT Crew works hard!

Van Welleghem was lined for its first usage of the season! The field looks great other than what soccer did to it between the goal posts. Teams in the south end should really enjoy it! Unfortunately we nearly died lining the field, I believe it was approximately as hot as the surface of the sun when we lined it. See for yourself! http://pitfootball.com/albums/755-van-walleghem-school-july-2015
