Coed A: Throw Jobs defeat Road Rockets 34-13
The new set of rules for the spring was successful in increasing the parity among the coed teams. Four teams tied atop the division with identical 3-2 records and two of those teams faced off in the championship game. Throw Jobs center Alex Hebert proved too much to handle scoring three touchdowns, while wide receivers Kathryn Huebner and Lauren Bachand combined for 9 points to put the game out of reach.
Coed B: Flying Squirrels defeat Dream Crushers 25-24
In the first Coed B division championship in PIT history the Flying Squirrels defeated the Dream Crushers on the strength of TD receptions from Kathryn Huebner, Lauren Bachand, and Amanda Vandale. The Flying Squirrels team exemplified what coed was about: having fun and getting the ladies fully involved in all aspects of the game regardless of the score or time remaining. If all teams take this approach going forward the future of coed will be bright. Congratulations to Lauren Bachand who becomes the first lady to win a scoring championship in coed! Here is how to recruit your own squirrels team:
Division 1: Anachronism defeat Guild of Calamitous Intent 32-19
Another PIT first as the Spring season marked the first time a cross-over team has won two divisions in the same night. Anachronism took out Polk High earlier in the evening and returned later to defeat the Guild via some clutch catches from newcomers Mark Ridd and Brayden Berstein. The Guild was led by Division 1 points leader Chad Okumura who had twelve points and an interception. The Spring session established the third consecutive time Chad has won the Div 1 scoring race a new record for consecutive scoring championships. Congratulations to the Anachronism team and to Chad for their accomplishments. What is Anachronism you say? It is this and it is awesome:

Division 2: Anachronism defeat Polk High 37-28
Anachronism jumped out to a big lead and then held on courtesy of a late touchdown pass from Jon Franklin to an outstretched Mark Ridd at the goal line which sealed the team’s first division 2 trophy. Anachronism looked like a piecemeal team for the majority of the season as it always seemed like new faces were present, they were however able to cobble things together a week after losing to a Division 3 team to win the Division 2 title. The combined division in indoor demonstrated that there is not a lot of differences between the teams in 1 through 3 and will hopefully ensure more teams make the jump to higher divisions next indoor.
Division 3: You Can’t Coach That defeat Brewers 34-27
YCCT just couldn’t get over the hump against a Brewers team that seemed to have their number…that is until now. YCCT finally broke the goose egg in large part due to JJ Mikolash’s five touchdown passes and Kevin Thompsons 15 points. Not only did this mark the first victory over the Brewers for YCCT but gave long standing member of the PIT community Kevin MacIssac his first taste of championship glory. Kevin added a second trophy to his case later in the night when he and his lady helped the Flying Squirrels win a coed championship.
Division 4: U Can’t Touch This defeat Appetite for TDs 26-25 (overtime)
U Can’t Touch This takes home their second straight indoor championship this time in overtime in what turned out to be the game of the night. Division passing leader Jesse Clarke threw six touchdown passes, two each to Prince Soriano, Stephan Pastushenko, and Lloyd Dueck. What time is it you ask?
Division 5: Da Beers defeat Zebras 26-6
Zebras were one of the most feared teams in PIT history but were felled by Da Beers in a game that wasn’t close from the start. The team of PIT refs couldn’t use their knowledge of the rulebook to their advantage against a Da Beers team led by Sean Morantz’s 13 points, one sack and interception for good measure. Da Beers knocked off both the top seeded Thunder Buddies and second place Zebras with relative ease despite those teams going a combined 9-1 during the regular season. Parity in the PIT reigns!
Division 6: Gangnam Style defeat Sex Panthers 32-13
Gangnam Style ran the table defeating the Sex Panthers in no small part to the Trinder connection. Stevie Trinder ran for a touchdown and threw for three more to his elder brother Nick who finished the game with 19 points. Evan Pollard replied with 13 points for The Sex Panthers who have the athleticism to make some noise…hopefully they won’t be made illegal in 9 countries.
Division 7: Hard vs Nomads TBD
With both teams on the verge of default the teams decided to pool their money and rent out the facility for the long weekend. The score will be posted when the game is complete. Who will take victory, the ageless Nomads or the up and coming young guns?
Division 8: Agent Orange defeat Manchild United 38-20
Game MVP Steve Nabess couldn’t be stopped as he hauled in all four of Chris Skitteral's TD passes in Agent Orange’s victory. Manchild made the playoffs via a tiebreaker and dismantled the undefeated Barracudas in the semifinals. Unfortunately the magic disappeared in the final. Cam Tirshmann spread the wealth throwing touchdowns to three different receivers however in the end it wasn’t enough.
Division 9: Spanish Channel News Team defeat The Pylons 32-6
With a roster of nearly 300 players the News Team was able to take it to the Pylons in the Div 9 final. Football is a game of matchups and the Pylons haven’t been able to break the Spanish Rosetta stone. The News team was led by the 18 points of Inder Brar and the five touchdown passes from Neil Dhillon. I am pretty sure the game went something like this:
Division 10: VG-Unit beat Off in the Shower 19-7
VG-Unit had a chance to beat off in the shower and they made the most of their opportunity. For two seasons no one had beat off in the shower so there was considerable pent up frustration. Jeffrey Weselake and Tyler Krasowski took it upon themselves to beat off in the shower scoring 13 points and throwing for three TDs respectively. Now that VG-Unit has shown other teams the recipe for beating off in the shower other teams can follow their blueprint if they too want to beat off in the shower in the future.
Division 11: Discount Double Check defeat That Team 26-0
That Team won a regular season barnburner against Discount Double Check (DDC) 30-28 so the final was expected to be another close one; however DDC came out strong and didn’t let up in pitching the only shutout of championship night. Chris Skitteral claims his second championship of the night as DDC combined for seven interceptions. After the game DDC QB Travers Cummings was seen doing this…that is until Clay Matthews came along:
